Nessie will always be my favorite coaster. It was the first big coaster I ever rode. It's always my first and last ride when I go to BGW and I always come off with a smile. Here's a pic from 1982 from one of my visits when I was 12. I posted this pic in the Rhine River Cruise thread since it shows the boats but I think it fits this thread too.

For some reason they were only running two trains on Nessie today, and since it was really busy, the line was very long. I just love to walk through that extended queue though. It's nice to see they still maintain that area, even though some of the props are out of shape or very dirty, but it's still really cool anyway.

Sometimes it would be just outside the cutbacks, and other times it would be halfway through the extended queue.

I think that sometimes the real cause of long lines in queues like LMM's is people's inability to get into a line and get out of the way. They bunch up near the station entrance and block everyone else from getting to lines for other cars. I have actually been yelled at by another guest at Verbolten for trying to get past one of those mobs to an empty lane in the back.

^The park should do what hershey park does. They have an employee at the entrance of the station and let people in as the crowd lessens in there. Bad thing is the lines move super slow.

They sometimes do this with Verbolten. They only let about four people behind the gates to each row at a time. In actuality is made no difference to the wait, as it let the same amount of people in per ride but kept things much more organized. They should really look into doing it on some rides, especially Nessie where people tend to clog the station.

EDIT: Nicole beat me to it. :p

When the coaster first opened they had a manual brake stop. So, occassionally they would not be able to stop the train, so some lucky customers would et two rides for the wait of one!! (Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe I read that in a book somewhere.)

I have never read or heard that before, and it would have required a bit of work to change the track. Further the train leaves the station under no power it is grav fed. If the track had been flat it would not have been able to do that.

All that said, while I know much about her, I do not know everything.
