Amazing because that’s a very specific place at KD, not just some abstract concept art. That’s right between the Emporium and the FunPix kiosk, in the plaza in front of Berserker. The park is really planning to go all out on this event.

I can't wait for the jugglers, huge chess, puppet show and mime to all be performing simultaneously!
And all of them in the same small spot cause you know KD never has crowd issues with these type of things.

Only 51 days.... MAN I can't wait! This is going to be something special!

Hopefully some of this stuff is spread out, but I love the art!

I know @mwhinva briefly mentioned this when the event was announced, but I’m doing some further research into this event (I am starving for more details on this event, it starts in a little more than a month now!) and got to see some of the previous work that Kern Studios has done in recent years. Holy crap, we are in for a TREAT this summer if the quality of the Spectacle of Color Parade is as good as the pictures I see on this website! It also helps that they are deep into the Mardi Gras business, which the Grand Carnivale is dabbling into like crazy.

Also, as an added bonus, 3dx Scenic is also producing props and such for the event. They’ve actually done some work with Cedar Fair before, as there is a picture of a refill stand at Kings Island that they created back in 2014 towards the end of the slideshow at this link below.

I’ll post more if my research brings up any other gems. I can’t wait!!!

Cedar Fair is really going all out for this event and I'm really excited. I hope the event draws the crowds and demographic they're hoping before, because if this event is successful, it would do wonders to attract that family crowd and re-establish Kings Dominion as a park that cares about theming and entertainment.

That said, to make this successful, I wish the park did more to market the Carnivale. There's basically no mention of it anywhere except online, and even then it's buried within the website. Dorney Park already has several displays up within the park to advertise the event, but I haven't even seen Carnivale advertised on in-park posters like around the Eiffel Tower or outside restrooms. I'd love to see KD spreading the word in the park about this massive, extravagant new event they're planning. I'm sure a lot of guests would be interested.

I'm pretty sure I heard an advertisement for it on TV a few days ago but I haven't seen it since. Might've just been one of those pilot test things because it seems weird to me to advertise for an event a few months from now.

Was it an entire ad about the Grand Carnivale, or was it that one ad from a while back that briefly mentioned it among other things?

Well, Dorney park is one of the CF parks where they could go several years without ANY attraction added. My guess is that Dorney is going overboard with advertising something that is new to them for 2019 now, even though the event does not start there until mid-late July.

As far as KD is concerned, it does seem unusual that the advertising in and out of the park has not ramped up for the event. You would think that KD would at least have similiar displays in the park. Maybe that will happen in the next week or so.

Dorney also does not have any seasonal events compared to Kings Dominion or Carowinds. This year is the first time under Cedar Fair they're getting a special event of sorts, and they're getting two right off the bat.

It's something Dorney and their local population both are not accustomed to so it's perfectly natural for Dorney to bring attention to them and try to capitalize on things.

I wish I had a way to improve the quality of this picture, but Worlds of Fun posted an in-depth article about the Grand Carnivale (including some details KD left out) and they have a concept art photo of the entire parade lineup. Can’t wait for the King of Carnivale to kick off the event!

Is this only going to happen on weekends or will they be doing the parade and such on weekdays too? I mostly go to parks on weekdays in the summer.

So I was looking through the job website again and noticed that the park is looking for Festival Ambassadors and Line Monitors. The line monitors seem to be the generic "make sure a guest isn't run over by a float" type of position. The Festival Ambassador position seems much more interesting. The description says that there will be an "Adventure Club" and Arts and Crafts areas on International Street. It also says that the FAs will "help guests solve clues and puzzles as they explore international street."

This event just keeps getting more interesting as it gets closer. Less than a month now!
