Not to mention that the experience on the side towards the control building tends to exert a lot of force on your lap compared to the former Volcano side...

It's a very apparent trend that most regional parks are taking out their top spins due to the high maintenance cost and considering our version has many costly effects it's very hard to justify operation.

I totally agree. It’s kind of this Catch 22 where either you don’t go with effects and lose traffic, which justifies removing the ride, or you pay the high costs of the effects to possibly breathe life into an area of the park that will likely suffer without something new soon.

I’m personally for its removal, but until something new comes up in Safari Village, it’s almost needed to be filler, although it’s pricey filler.

^I thought that statue looked familiar! Amazing they’ve kept it all these years.

Also, anyone notice the original name was “Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life”? I think “Tomb Raider: Firefall” was definitely better. Both are better than “The Crypt.” :p

interesting in that a KD related Facebook site was asking its readers today a question concerning what attraction would you be willing to sacrifice in order to save something else. I guess the answer is the Crypt.

I am beginning to think that 2021 is going to be Sarfari Village's turn for an attraction.

I’m actually sad about this. The restraints were ball crushers, but the flipping sensation was such an insane feeling that it literally made me laugh out loud every time. The theming was also beautiful (if a bit weathered), and when the effects were working, it was quite the show to watch too.

I’m curious about what will happen to the space. We knew this removal was coming at some point, but with Volcano gone, this is just really unfortunate timing. That area is going to be awfully dead this season.

I'm trying to stay positive about this. This could open up a spot for another element or two for a 2021 coaster.

I'd much rather keep Avalanche than the Crypt.
With the area being so dead now, I really do not want this to mean Avalanche rider count nosedives too and they justify its removal. Then again, The Bat formerly known as Top Gun at Kings Island is in a dead end too.

That leaves quite an area without anything - I hope they keep Avalanche, but if it goes then the whole area is up for transformation.

So long, ball-buster.

They're putting a coaster there within the next 2 years. That's what this is for.
