I noticed that on the first car they replaced the comfort collar buckle with a snap hook like this. The collar's themselves are more rubber like and thinner than the previous ones. I'm not sure if it was like that before it went down though.

Some of the buckle changes are from before the break down. The park is slowly transitioning to the snap restraint system due to guests accidentally putting the comfort collar behind the buckle. This is strong enough for the ride ops to pull on and consider secure. The comfort collar will remain snug and then during the barrel roll will commonly come undone due to the full body weight of the rider being placed on the collar. The snap hook is being installed in hopes of preventing further cases of comfort collars coming undone during the ride.

One of Tempesto’s siblings at SWSD, Electric Eel, recently received new comfort collars. These collars are significantly more loose and allow for more movement and exposure to the forces of the ride that aren’t achieved with the previous rendition of comfort collars found on Tempesto. Along with the added freedom these restraints also have the snap hook system that we’ve seen added on Tempesto. Being that many renditions of comfort collars have been placed on Tempesto it should be interesting to see this spring if we recieve the updated, hopefully more comfortable, comfort collars.

I worked at Tempesto it's opening year & hated the comfort collars. Now one thing when we would do our opening guest satisfaction rides in the morning, we would nlot wear the comfort collars just hold it down, and it was much better. I wonder why SWP&E are the only ones that use the comfort collars? Is it because of their insurance company or something else? Can't wait to ride Tigris to give me a throwback of Tempesto rides, plus one thing I miss about working at Tempesto is had an awesome crew & I got like 21 guest compliments working tthere. #ComfortCo;;arsCraziness

My guess is that with Preview Day only 4 days away (yay!!!!!) that they are getting the coasters back on the track, running them through their cycles, and training employees how to operate them. He was probably "enjoying" a ride on Tempesto.

Looks like that was taken from Apollo's chariot. Probably had a painter get some nice shots of that area of the park frum up there.
