Well, by definition, a shuttle coaster does not connect to make a full circuit. That is not the case here. If they are calling it one because it goes backwards through the station, that's just silly.

Some say a shuttle coaster is a coaster without a full circuit and goes backwards through its whole course to get back to a point. However if we just said any coaster that goes backward at some point was a shuttle coaster, then Expedition Everest would be considered one, and that's just wrong. Since Tempesto fails to match up with both parts of what is considered to be a shuttle coaster, I think it's safe to say it is not one.

That I do Gavin! One can learn a lot about the industry looking at this stuff for a year and a half straight. Another site's classification along with my own uninformed ideas of what a shuttle coaster's characteristics really are, doesn't change what the true definition of it really is. 'A coaster that does NOT complete a full circuit'. (Quack)

Edit... A shuttle roller coaster is any roller coaster that ultimately does not make a complete circuit, but rather reverses at some point throughout its course and traverses the same track backwards. These are sometimes referred to as boomerang roller coasters, due to the ubiquity of Vekoma's Boomerang coaster model.

Here are some pictures I took of tempesto(the coaster) before it opened.
