KD is a little over an hour's drive from Washington DC. BGW is two-and-a-half hours away.

Anyway, I didn't mean it as an insult. Just that BGW is a regional park that can't be expected to be putting on the kinds of musical acts that, for example, the big Florida parks are lining up.

Dylan Scott replied to Busch Garden's official announcement on Facebook. That's kinda cool.

I remember the old Lake Compounce summer series getting to see The Beach Boys, Billy Joel, Paul McCartney and the Wings, New Kids on the Block, Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch.....anyways....I might go for Kool and the Gang.

Based on the park website it looks like they are trying to monetize the concerts this year more than the last time they had them. This year outside of the VIP seating ($19.99) they are having a reserved area that will cost $9.99. Before I believe they only had the one (VIP) pay section. What I don't see, yet, is whether you are going have to get a free ticket upon entering the park just to get into the RPT for the concert.

I dont trust the upsale tickets, still need to get there early. They have oversold them many times and then people have no where to sit in the section they paid for.

The show was exactly 5 minutes tonight....Train closes at 7:30, I think I heard over the radio Bolt closed about 8:50 and Panthen they...oh thats right nevermind. By the looks of the number of employees standing on the bridge doing nothing they cant say they are having a hard time hiring....and one point I counted 15 blocking the path joking and hugging each other while telling guests they couldnt stand there and block the path. Snack stands close early, starting at 7:50 and by 8:30 I didnt see any open on the fireworks side of the park.

So they don't have any hiring problems because all the snack stand employees left to manage crowds?

Didn't the park close at 9? Almost all snack close an hr before closing so that would mean oh my God they closed 10 minutes early this is horrible I will immediately go and burn my pass in protest for this unacceptable service.

But when you have a fireworks event at 9:15 why on earth would you close the ice cream shop, which is also the only place in italy to get a drink, where a bunch of people will be standing for well over a hour before? The place in Germany by the gazebo I was standing there looking at the menu at 7:50 and they were closing the roll down doors? Marco Polos either didnt open at all yeaterday or closed well before the last Bel C show. Also @horsesboy I dont think I was bitching in that post but was merely posting what I saw, so if you planned on going would know to get your snacks early, which I would assume the point of fireworks is to keep guests in the park.....to spend money......but you actually cant do that.

I was looking at the lineup and my dumbass was like, "Who's 'Coming Soon'?"

So as it turns out, Jesse McCartney was one of my girlfriend's favorites in high school, and that night also happens to be her birthday. Anyone care to weigh in on whether or not reserved seating might be necessary, or if the VIP seating is even worth it?

I intend to suffer through this for her, and I'd prefer to make it as fun for her as possible.
