Also exponentially cheaper and easier to power wash a water tower than paint a 5400ft long coaster lol.

Truthfully, I think that and the RMT repaint are also more important than a Nitro repaint. Nitro is absolutely looking awful and on paper probably needs a repaint more than any other coaster in the chain, but RMT is much more visible close up excluding actually being on the ride, and the water tower grime was noticeable from the parking lot.

This park needs so much paint and TLC that some things will just need to wait another year or two. I'm confident Nitro will finally get a repaint next year or the following.

I'd really like to see another source also report this. The guy behind this is engaged in a major ongoing nasty beef with Jackson Township over money. Members have accused him of spreading lies about the council and local actions. People that don't like those particular members are attacking them and backing the guy. It's a lot of nasty politics. They ended his contract to promote Jackson just a few months ago for cause and apparently he's been on the warpath ever since. There's some bad behavior on both sides here, but Phil Stilton has a rep in Toms River I already knew about. He's not a news guy. His site just aggregates stories and runs ads. And he's got a track record of writing up his version of other people's stories that then change details, let's just say. There's nothing on the township website about the records his story cites. There was no recent meeting where this came out. No other local or regional newspapers have these records. The story doesn't link to or show screenshots of the records it says it has. The only way I can see to get such records of issued fines against a particular property is directly from the township by requesting it through open records and them having to approve a release, which given the relationship with Six Flags I'm not sure they'd do, unless the zoning office is pissed if this is all accurate and wanting to send a message. Maybe that's what happened here. But I find it hard to believe they'd cooperate with the guy involved here. I'd just like to see someone else back up the report. Every mention online now sources back solely to this ShoreNewsNetwork link and he's got a big axe to grind against Jackson Township by spreading negative stuff, which may or may not be true. He's also got a habit of reporting stories and then exaggerating details or making stuff up to make it more dramatic or worse than it was. It could be that there are some fines on the books but maybe there is paperwork with the permits in process and they haven't processed yet so there could be a weird limbo here between approval and issuance of fines and he's exaggerating them to say they've all been issued and Six Flags is paying left and right for violations. The net of it all is it makes Jackson Township look like fools getting run over by a big corporation. Again, the fines and details may be totally accurate. But I'm skeptical given the source for now.

At about 7:49, Colin says that “you’ll wanna keep a close eye on the fort though, some things might be changing, in a good way.” Very interested to see what this ends up panning out as. Despite being maybe the most iconic structure in the park’s history, the future of the fort has been a pretty big question mark ever since Skyride’s removal, and I’ll take any positive news on it.

Side note, RMT looks incredible. Long live the Arrow mine train.

Originally meant for the Shoreline Pier thread, but I feel like this fits better here:

Broadly speaking, I was most active at Great Adventure back in the 90s, went here and there through the 2000s and 2010s, and returning full time as a season passholder in 2024-Present.

I've seen the slow decline of the park and how much everything was slowly falling apart. I noticed that even before I was invested as I am now.

Given the absolutely massive amount of work, updates, repairs, and general cleanup I've seen since the merger, and ESPECIALLY just in this operating season, I have a lot of faith in the future of this park.

If they've managed to clean up this much in just 5-8 months, it's a good indicator that we likely have great things on the horizon.

Night and day transformation considering how things looked before, and it really puts into perspective just how awful the boardwalk looked before this year. All it took was some rides from SFA and some new concrete (among other things)

I haven’t been to the park since before Parachuter's Perch closed, didn’t know until now just how awful the base of it looked fenced off. Really just added to what was already the most hideous area in the park, and I’d be overly impressed with its transformation if it had taken the nearly 4 years since then, let alone the few months they’ve ACTUALLY been working on it.

That area hasn't looked too good, or been much fun, since the days of GASM, the perch, the shuttle, and Right Stuff. Heck, even Shockwave. That's the era I started going and came to love the park. That's finally changing after a lot of neglected years in recent history.

I feel like the giant lattice structure and massive white columns mixed with the bright red track on Scream Machine was a huge part of the visual charm of the older boardwalk. I think the parachute tower looked better white too.

It's why I'd love to see a whitewashed classic wooden coaster. I feel like it's the last piece to finishing the theme.
