There's going to be better bacon offerings in Oktoberfest soon, so what's the point of one piece on a stick?

The Daily Mess posted: Behind the Scenes: No match needed for Fireworks at Busch Gardens. There are some good details about the setup for the holiday weekend extended shows as well as the smaller shows later this month. The extended shows include 1,200+ shells while the regular, nightly shows have about 750 shells. The article's author seems to imply (I suspect incorrectly) the cost of the show is about $30,000 per night. Since a "large" nightly show is not defined with a number of shells, the cost reference is not very helpful. Although I think it's safe to assume this is a costly proposition for the park. I hope to view it one night soon.

My Coney was placed on a grill along with a bun.
The collection of dogs were boiling next to the grill. I've never seen a hot dog boiled and then put on a grill but hey, guess that's how they roll in San-Murica. Was the dog good CK? (comparing to the pretzeldog)

I thought it was OK; not worth the price and there are far better choices around the park. I do not plan on purchasing another and these dogs will never be a replacement for anything at the Pretzel Shop. My recommendation is to stick with the BACON THING as a snack if you want something from the Independence Grill. ;)

For what it's worth, all of BGW's coasters are amazing at night.

That goes for most parks! :p

Especially ones that are in the middle of nowhere like Holiday World and Knoebels!

We were just talking about how pretty parks are at night. Oddly, even though it isn't fabulous in the day, KD is lovely when it is lit up at night.

Of course, roller coasters are amazing in the dark. The best ride of any trip is the last one of the night without fail.

(I keep hearing about Holiday World and Knoebels; I really must make those trips, I think.)

By the way, the music they play after the fireworks is very majestic and inspiring, and isn't American. If you're like me and hate the recent music change in Banbury Cross, after the fireworks is the perfect time to hang out in Banbury.

For the record, the music they play after the fireworks is the same music they play after the Illuminights fireworks.

I guess the supervisor that I asked the question to, about the hotdogs at Independence Grill being special in any way, didn't know what he was serving! This was from an email about the event "Independence Grill™ features five different styles of hot dogs: New York, Chicago, West Virginia, Coney Island and All-American"...

You can order whatever you'd like on you hot dog, but those are their specialties.

Just so people know, boiling hot dogs can actually be better than grilling them. It's healthier, it helps to evenly cook the entire dog with out burning any part, and it's easier to keep the dog hot in hot water and throw it fresh on the grill instead of have hot dogs just sit out in the open or on a plate until people order.

I throw mine fresh on the grill from the fridge. Boiling ruins the texture and also dilutes the oils in the dog, which in turn, removes flavor as well as the oils.(which is probably why boiled may be healthier) My health is the last thing on my mind when I'm paying 6 bucks for a hotdog. I want flavor. I'm not disagreeing with you PR. There are folks who prefer boiled over grilled and they may live 6 months longer than me because of it :)

Raven, Legend and Voyage at Holiday World are insane at night. The park is in the middle of nowhere, practically in between Louisville, KY and Evansville, IN with no light emission from big cities around it. Night rides are pitch black.
