2. Why did they put the glow stand next to a mister?  Water really doesn't mix well with electronics or fabric.
This has been my question since the image first popped up of the glow stand next to the misters.

Either way. I don't like like how it looks, and I'm not interested in going. (Not that i was ever interested in going to this "event" in the first place.) It just looks distasteful and tacky.

My opinion? The stuff in San Marco itself isn't nauseating like the crap in Banbury. Sure, the bar looks terrible, but it doesn't hurt your eyes like rainbow paint.
But the San Marco/Oktoberfest bridge is DISGUSTING! Immediately reminded me of Six Flags! I could go on and on but you already know how I feel.

From what I can tell all of this was put up over a night or two. That's one of the biggest issues for me. That's not an overlay that's some tinsel and a few barstools.

The other thing is, I honestly can see their being some backlash from the GP over this. Victory Canteen just doesn't sit well with me, (especially with my love for all things US History and Government). The Presidential Seal on a bar? Really? I've never judged something before seeing it as so many do on this site, however, this... it just seems cheap and simplistic.

What makes me frustrated is the fact that none of this is needed (like not even in the slightest). This will not bring in any added numbers other than minimal alcohol sales. Not to mention the fact that they are still having a full month of nightly fireworks which, fun fact, are extremely expensive. If they were doing it for say, two weeks, I'd be all for it, but they're not.¬ There is no addition to the park, whatsoever. I was going to write up a lengthy trip report/opinion piece on the park but the “discussion” in the bomb threat thread pretty much killed my passion at the time so that’s on the backburner for now. However one of the main points I was going to make was that F&W, aside from adding new attractions all over the park, also added something that we haven’t seen in a very long time: density. Not individual, but spatial density. People were stopping to relax, and clustering in spaces that were normally thoroughfares. People were using these spaces as if they were in a PARK.

SSN adds no draws other than a bar. (And maybe Lady Liberty if there is actual fire in her torch).

Nicole said it best. This really isn’t a festival or an event. It’s filler, and until now, I don’t think the park has ever relied on filler.

Finally, let me make one last (possibly hot button) statement. I personally believe that the only reason we are having nightly fireworks (excluding the four days surrounding the fourth) is because Kings Dominion is having them. I think SSN is Busch’s answer to their 40th Celebration. I don’t think the park knows how to cope with the fact that someone just down the road is having a bigger party. I think SSN is their answer, instead of just allowing the park to pull through on its own.

Normally, I don't post about aesthetics - it's WGAS/WGAF territory for me. And I'm typically the type of guy who has to see it for myself before I make comment. That being said...

This looks terrible. Really terrible. Like, something out of an episode of Honey Boo Boo - that kind of terrible. If a student were to turn this in as a grade school project he should be held back a year. Maybe 2.

Terrible.

The livestock looks cool.

I think it is "perfect," for VE Day in Italy!

PR: clearly the rumpled sheet metal is an homage to the American Rust Belt!

What have I been saying??? Sherman tank parked on the fountain knocking over a column.

Honestly, I don't think it looks that bad, especially as a decoration for 4th of July weekend. My problem is that it will stay up WAY past 4th of July. Here is how I think people will respond to this:

This weekend: Oh cool 4th of July stuff
Next Week: Wow they haven't taken down their 4th of July stuff yet, that's kind of tacky
Two weeks from now: Oh...I guess this is a thing?

My family is SUPER military and I have spent a lot of time on bases and around military people and honestly, I don't see people getting offended by the bar. My brother (the most stereotypical army private) would love it and so would his friends.

EDIT: My bother just liked Bud Light on Facebook, that just strengthens my previous statement. Honestly I am shocked it took him this long to show his love for Budweiser products on Social Media. >.>

This thing tastes like a glazed ham.  Very thick-cut bacon on a stick!! ;)

The place looks great at night, and I love it. However, the theme is not just America. It is actually 1940's America specifically judging by music selection, culientainment outfits, and so forth. It feels like Holiday Hills but not Christmas.

So did they steal that menu from Sonic lol What is the difference of the 7.69 and 6.69 hot dog and is the bacon on the stick really worth paying almost 4.00 for a piece of bacon? Oh and judging from the pictures it does look really good at night and eye sore in the morning

Wait, tomorrow is July 4th, the day we celebrate our independence which was gained in the 18th century, but the theme of the event takes place in the 20th century? How could the event get any more confusing?
