But the Six Flags part would be just like the Cedar Fair part is for current CF parks— there, but not in the name.

For people my age, Great Adventure is Great Adventure, not Six Flags. For younger people it’s always been Six Flags since Time Warner spent a lot of money rebranding the parks in the 1990’s. Basically they just have to unbrand the parks back to their original names, all with the Six Flags brand de-emphasized.
I don't disagree, and I know I liked that idea early on, but the more I sit with it anything like that is quite clunky. And I know most people would just call it what they want.

I think the better move early should be to make a logo for this new venture that blends the identities of both. I think the 'coaster' Cedar Fair logo with a flag off each peak and valley would do, then use the old Cedar Fair font for the Six Flags name. I'm not savvy enough with AI or photoshop to make this, but I think if you did that, just named the parks with a unifying phrase (Like "Great" or something) and use that logo it would work nicely.

While not Great Adventure related, I wonder if Six Flags Great America will rebrand to Illionois' Great America to match California's Great America (even though that's rumored to be closing sometime in the future), as they are sibling parks again (they were once both owned by Marriott Hotels).
I hope not. Illinois’ Great America/Chicago’s Great America sound very clunky (really, so does California’s Great America…). Keeping it Six Flags Great America, or just Great America is the way to go in this case.

I mean if they hold off on a rebrand a few years, they won’t even need the city/state distinction, as California’s Great America is still planned to permanently close.

I just saw a video that hinted at a rebrand for the park, which is getting ready for Holiday in the Park. In most cases, the event is called Six Flags Holiday in the Park, but for Six Flags' Great Adventure, the event is named Great Adventure's Holiday in the Park. Might the management (which was the old Cedar Fair management) be phasing out Six Flags from the park names when possible to make them consistent with the former Cedar Fair parks?

I've only seen one sign/promotional ad that said "Great Adventure's Holiday In The Park." All of the other signage for Holiday in the park still said Six Flags, that is in-park, online, and print advertising for the even. In addition, I'm increasingly of the opinion that the new, combined Six Flags Entertainment Corporation is operating with two divisions, legacy Six Flags and legacy Cedar-Fair. Six Flags, as a brand, was strong in the 1980's and 1990's, projecting a quality image among the major brands in the regional theme park industry. I believe the purchase of the company by Premier Parks with Premier management in the driver seat, quickly led to the decline of the original Six Flags parks (legacy parks), because they significantly diluted the brand by slapping its name on so many parks that were NOT up to the standards of Six Flags at that time.

Please don't get rid of DC and Looney Tunes. I became a DC fan thru Movietown. I do like Peanuts, but DC and Looney Tunes have been an integral part of Six Flags since the '80s and '90s.
If that happens its going to be company wide not just Great Adventure

I do think it’ll happen, but not all at once due to the sheer amount of retheming costs they’d be getting themselves into. Some will be easier like Joker and HQ, but Dark Knight and Justice League are gonna require full overhauls.

I believe they’ll either start with the rides that aren’t in a DC themed section (in Great Adventure’s case, Superman/Joker/HQ), or the ones that will require minimal changes (Joker/HQ/Wonder Woman).

Why would it happen?? DC is still popular. If anything, I could see DC rides getting added to CF parks.

Maybe we'll get a better idea in a few days:

I assume they will be rolling out any kind of new logo/branding with the new season.

The other side of this is someone on reddit believes that Great Adventure and Dorney Park shared the same Social Media manager now and the same graphics were used just to announce an opening day.

They do, and it’s possible that’s all they announce.

DC arguably doesn’t have the power it did 30 years ago, and I doubt very many people are going to Six Flags parks because of DC theming that for the most part is just kinda thrown wherever. Maybe we’ll see some DC theming remain, like in the Metropolis areas, but I think the days of throwing a ride in an otherwise non DC area and calling it Superman are over.

I really don’t think legacy CF parks are going to have DC rides added. I wouldn’t be surprised if they sold DC merch, but SF tends to be consistent with DC themes across ride models for the most part (save for some exceptions like Superman Escape from Krypton and Great Adventure’s Flash), and these tend to be models that CF parks don’t have.

Is Nitro ever getting that rumored new paint job? I feel like that's (and Raging Bull) the only tallish coasters left that need repainted..?

I am. Alot of comic fans love Six Flags (Six Flags made me a DC fan.)
That’s awesome. But Superman shouldn’t be in a boardwalk themed area. Or a western themed area, or a pine barrens themed area, or joker slapped randomly on a mediocre ride blocking the views in arguably the most beautiful part of the park (lakefront).

Having an area themed to superhero stuff is cool. Like island of adventure.
