Yeah all those intamin shipments were for Toro, when the track arrives it should be fairly visible as Green Lanterns plot appears to be the staging area.

I do have to say I’m getting worried looking at the expectations from both those who are enthusiasts and just those on great adventure pages. It’s getting ridiculous and this giga blitz rumor isn’t helping. I’ve seen nothing to suggest this is actually the new coaster, the timeline is too quick, the relationship between corporate and Intamin is too damaged, and the cost is too high.

Really hope these other worldly expectations don’t come back to hurt the park.
It’s just a tough situation because the abrupt closure of Ka is the main reason expectations are so high, and said closure was mostly out of anyone’s control. The Zumanjaro story makes sense, where it had a structural issue that would’ve cost a fortune to fix, and corporate just said screw it and decided to pull the plug then and there rather than spend millions just to operate Ka for an extra season.

If Ka had a legit send off I think peoples expectations would be a little more realistic.

Where did the Intamin giga blitz rumor come from anyway? ETR is extremely credible and essentially confirmed (without outright saying it) that the coaster would be what everyone thinks it’ll be.

I imagine GAdv will get a true headliner to pair with Toro in the next couple of years assuming the company is serious about making it a destination again.

I mean my personal feeling is that with the Cedar Fair investment strategy, a B&M Giga is almost inevitable if they want to make this park a real destination. I think that if they removed Medusa and the amphitheater you open up enough land to put one in and give the western area a big refresh. This is YEARS down the line but I could definitely see it happening.

People make things up to distract themselves from reality. Those who don't want the spinner/tower will try to convince its something more enticing.

When we knew we were getting skyscreamer, everyone was insisting we were getting a record high model. We then were told (initially) that we were getting the 150' model.

When leaks starting coming out about an RMC (Jersey devil) people started making up the T Rex rumors.

When leaks started for joker, rumors started that we would be getting the larger s&s model.

Great Adventure is one of the bigger six flags parks, so everyone automatically jumps on crazy rumors because of the ka/el toro days. Not sure who would even entertain the thought of a gigantic blitz actually being realistic for Great Adventure.

Same, and I'm not even trying to be biased lol if you look at most other coaster types, they're covered by parks within a couple hours away. The only thing missing in the northeast is a giga. (KD has a wingrider, Dorney has a dive coaster, list goes on)

Only issue with that rumor is I don't know where they'd put it. I wouldn't hate removing Medusa and putting a big coaster in to replace that and the arena, but I feel like stretching something out to the safari would be difficult because I'm not sure people staying at savannah sunset would want a giga coaster running through that area lol

Eh, there's reason to believe things could be different now (even though your point is spot on). JRA ruined Six Flags for awhile by completely cheaping out in every aspect, giving parks that had old woodies RMC conversions (if a park didn't have one they were SOL), free spins, and then every other park would get cheap flats that would end up being removed after a couple of years anyways (larson loopers are the best example of this) and on top of all that, COMPLETELY ignoring the fact that parks need to be maintained yearly. He was essentially what Dan Snyder was for the chain from an incompetency standpoint, except he wasn't involved in bankrupting the chain.

From what it looks like, CF doesn't want to approach GAdv in that way and wants to actually make it a destination. I still think the spinner is what we'll end up getting, but to those who don't like that addition, ask yourselves this: would you have ever imagined a 400ft spinning tower coaster added to a park under JRA? The construction for this new ride has been pretty impressive, it's the most assertive I've seen the park be in regards to trying to get a ride opened on time. I think things will be different going forward.

I think the whiplash of Ka’s closure is making people forget the significance. They are planning on building a 400 FOOT TALL EXTREME SPINNER. If that doesn’t tell you things going forward will be different I don’t know what will. I know I’ve been begging for management to get back to where the park was in 2005/6 and a this is as close as we’ve gotten since Six Flags’ bankruptcy

At this point, it feels like the park will be mostly the same next year. They better unveil some of this “multi year plan”

The fact that Six Flags CONTINUES to screw over Great Adventure with their marketing is fucking infuriating. I know for a fact that none of the GP will actually see this because why would they? but they all know there were plans to build a new "record breaking multi-launch roller coaster" because Six Flags fucking announced it with the demo plans for Ka which were EVERYWHERE

The chain announcements seem to be next week on 7/31, so I expect them to keep dumping out info like this. No idea if they have a plan for this park beyond "It's going to be cheaper next year" with the inclusion of all parks in the chain.

Well, I feel like this makes the prospect of a Ragin' Cajun relocation more likely, along with maybe a new flat ride. That part of the park is a barren wasteland, and they have to do SOMETHING to stem the bleeding. Perhaps Superman will also be repainted/rethemed for next season since it's the most visible ride from the parking lot and they need to present to guests that they actually still care about the park.
