The most confounding/confusing thing about this whole process has been they've known for a while they were closing SFA. So this delay of moving attractions when there may be interest (as it seems @Zachary 's post indicates) has an off feeling of maybe they are hoping to somehow/someway write off everything in the park?

It would be unlikely that a tax write off would have have more value than the actual attractions used sales price. The only way that happens is a newer attraction that hasn't been depreciated much yet, but has very limited resale potential. That seems pretty unlikely for much of anything at the park.

Possible scenarios I see...

1. Six Flags does have interest in some of the attractions, but hasn't solidified where they're moving them to yet and doesn't want to spend money to remove them until that is settled.

2. Six Flags is trying to find buyers who will pay for the removal of the attractions themselves, thus they'll be leaving them up as long as possible. In this situation, it's possible if they don't sell Six Flags might repurpose some later, but they probably don't have any active plans yet.

3. Six Flags has little to no interest in repurposing the attractions (which given that most are older and/or clones wouldn't be overly surprising), thus they're not going to spend any money they don't have to spend on the upkeep of anything left behind.

4. Enchanted Parks is interested in either buying the property or the rides at the property and nothing is being done until that sale concludes.

What I think can be ruled out at this point is anything from SFA becoming a surprise 2026 addition as even relocating a stock flat ride is probably a six month project at minimum.
I think that Enchanted Parks was the buyer and gave them a chance for more properties in Six Flags chain. Since this is a closed deal and NDA in place, they can't include this in trademark filings. Follow the internet breadcrumbs.

Here's another point maintenance staff were able to work until December 2025 to assist with closing the park and give them a chance to get other jobs with other Parks. A friend and former colleague was offered a job at another park in the chain. This not uncommon.

Before the park closed there was employee reunion of former employees and one these people was Hue E., which was the first park GM, he work for Six Flags 1998 until the mid 2000's as an regional vp in charge of east coast and he works for the new version of Premier Parks LLC which was Premier Parks who bought Six Flags in 1998. I know this, since I was a full-time maintenance electrician and I was 30 years old when I worked at the park in 98. This park was Premier Parks first park. Does this mean they are a bidder in the sell. We just don't know who the buyer is, since a NDA is in place between the two parties.

We also have to remember that Six Flags as an new CEO and this person will have a say what happens to this sell. Even though it was started by the old CEO.

It's certainly a possibility but I think we would have seen some filings that that would hint at the possibility. And in fact we don't actually KNOW they are buying any SF parks and IF they are such s purchase is going to also be under a NDA till it's publicly announced as it would be illegal to leak such information that might influence the price of SF's stock. The trade mark status as it currently stands is nothing more then a warning that basically say hey we might want to purchase this teade mark in the future so please hold it in reverse in case we file for it. In fact it could be argued that the fact more haven't been filed is a sign that the deal is less likely to go through.

Two things on this. First off monyhs before the park closed SF had offered or at least begun process of offering positions to all year employees and even many full time and long term seasonal employees. That was confirmed by multiple people as early July. This was done as much to lighten the severance package requirements for a mass lay off as well as to try to keep good people.

Second it is impossible to know from the outside if the new CEO will have any say as that all depends on how far along the deal is and what the terms are. If a contraxt was signed and is simply waiting on certain things to happen before finalization then it's to late for the new ceo to do anything.

Crazy work reviving the SFA social accounts to promote the other parks (including Great Escape).

Watching that, it's crazy that they left old rotting food, full trash cans, merch, everything is left behind. I know that the park will be either rethemed or (more likely) demolished soon but it almost feels like a Discovery Island situation. Everything left behind. Hell, they never even properly closed the dish pit on the last night in the kitchen they walked through. There's still bleach sitting out, tubs in the sink, boxes of food sitting out.
Everyone just left everything behind...

It is fascinating, though, to watch them vlog this. Easily the best/most comprehensive look we have at the state of the park

It's so strange to me to see the lights on in the stations, lift hills and ride areas in general for the roller coasters when the park is closed for good. It's almost like the park is still showing it's last bit of life. Also, funny enough, it's not the first time the Batwing lost a letter in it's sign.

That is kinda par for the course for a lot of these places as it makes detecting and catching intruders easier as well as serving as a detergent. Hell River country still had mudic playing over thevpa a decade after it closed.
