It's not open. The people taking this footage are not there with permission of the park.
Just a friendly, preemptive reminder as I expect SFA to be an epicenter of urban exploration in the months ahead:
Our rules only prohibit ADVOCATING for engaging in illegal activity, so as long as that rule is followed, discussions about illegal activity that has occurred are fair game (providing that none of the CONTENT ITSELF is illegal of course—very unlikely I'd say). We are expressly NOT in the business of enforcing park rules on this forum so we have no intention of silencing/burying this type of material even if parks (reasonably) hate it (they do).
Obviously no one should trespass and I condemn trespassing, BUT if you see videos from inside the park, definitely share them—very curious to see what's happening on the property!

You actually can discuss possible plans and strategies for a heist of a coaster as long as it is an intellectual endeavor and you don't advocate anyone actually doing it!
This rule has already been tested thoroughly with the infamous, vintage, iconic "How to Dispose of Bodies at BGW" thread.
So yeah, I guess you can't organize a crew and time to go steal Wild One, but you can start a thread working out how someone (or a group of people) could, theoretically, relocate Wild One!
That's the case for any abandoned place... not just Themeparks.. Malls etc are catnip for them
Ok, so for that old of a coaster with some incredibly heavy components... I think you'd be better off getting the most recent set of engineering plans and photographing the structure than moving that much lumber. That leaves trucking out the trains, brakes, control system, and lift components plus running steel if that's reasonable to acquire. That's for a heist-style job, and even then you'll need a large coordinated crew to pull it off. Perhaps with some subterfuge of claiming you're a legit set of contractors working for corporate.
But if you want to go whole-hog, then still get all the plans and pictures, but start labeling/documenting each vertical bent section before carefully dismantling to lay back out and reassemble at the destination on new footers.

For what it's worth others have reported that they have recently spotted security patrols and new cameras around the property.

Possibly impacting SFA's future NASA announced plans to close and shrink a significant park of Goddard Space Flight Center and that a significant amount of land and buildings will be up for lease or possibly sale. This adds a significant amount of realstate to the market in PG County.

At this point, security there is about as effective as the New York Jets offensive line.
They should just offer paid "abandoned amusement park walking tours" with a special, more expensive "abandoned amusement park AFTER DARK" flashlight-only option. Think of the money!
These "abandoned explorers" going to SFA crack me up. The park hasn't even been closed a month yet. And before Holiday in the Park, SFA was always closed by this point in the season -- for months.

I get what you are saying though. It’s not like things have been there 10+ years unattended where it’s like SFNO once was with overgrown vegetation and a feeling of “trapped in time”. I still enjoy seeing things up close and really getting a view of things you didn’t really have the chance to see.
I mean, there's still plenty of security and people working now too, to be fair.
