Maybe Six Flags will pull a Kentucky Kingdom; get all the rides it wants for its other parks out of there then sell it off as a small theme park to be developed by new owners.
Honestly I don’t imagine they’ll really want to take much, I mean you got a raggedy b&m, an SLC, an old janky intamin hyper, maintenance troubled flying dutchman, a premier launch that they own the other three versions of, two woodies, and a bunch of old flat rides or new ones that are likely more trouble than they’re worth to move. I just don’t think they’ll even bother moving the majority of the rides, maybe take some trains and parts from some but otherwise idk.

This isn’t a geauga lake situation where all the rides premier parks bought to send their asses to the brink of bankruptcy were still relatively new.

SFA really isn’t having a good last couple of months of operation. There’s a thread on Reddit that says Steam Town is closed off due to this, and the only ride I can think of there with a capacity of 32 is SteamWhirler, unless somehow two trains on Screamore were affected.

It was SteamWhiler but ny understanding is it's greatly been dramatized in the report.

You’re not wrong by any means. With Batwing and Superman closed seemingly for good, I had pretty much written off my trip to SFA even before I cancelled my October trip to NJ. There’s very little sense in renting a car and driving down there just for Wild One to potentially be closed, and no other operating ride is something I haven’t already experienced (aside from Screamore, somehow I’ve avoided being tortured by an SLC up to this point).

It’s just a shame to see them go out with the smallest whimper.

Yup, heard the story on the local DC news radio station and the announcers were talking about it and said it was another reason they don’t go 70 mph on roller coasters despite the fact that the details in the story they just read specified it was a multi-armed ride?!?

Apparently PG County Executive Aisha Braveboy was interviewed on Fox 5 Zip Trip segment today and said that the county was already working with a developer and had received RFPs with proposals. I haven't been able to track down the interview yet.

Thinking of going this Saturday to get the credits. Never been, even though I've lived in the area 30 years. What do you all think crowds will be like? Any particular plan for attacking the park?
Should be fine, crowds were never really a problem here except at the waterpark. More problematic is uptime and mechanical breakdowns, but there's not too much here to worry about.
