Any update on batwing? I am not sure when Blizzard River will open up, they said it was testing this month.

This will never happen, but unless Six Flags is saved by someone wanting to keep the land an amusement park, I would hope someone would try (at some point) to build a new theme park elsewhere in the state. It'll be a bummer to have no large-scale theme park anywhere in Maryland. The only problem is finding space, where there is also nearby access to a freeway. One area that could make sense is the area around the Konterra development along 1-95 which has not progressed much.

Jolly Roger (either park) or even Trimper's has more rides operating simultaneously on any given day than SFA has had in the past several years LOL. I'd also argue that the Wildcat or Flitzer at Jolly Roger 30th Street are objectively better than any coaster at SFA except maybe Wild One or Superman.

I like your first sentence not the second. During my visit to Adventure Park USA on 8/21/23, queue-times reported fewer coasters in operation at SFA (probably ignoring Great Chase) until it was too late to bother going over there (even underestimating how awful that would be at rush hour). SFA really has become too inconsistent to bother traveling to. But your rating seems to at least forget JJinx, and I almost surely prefer Roar, Firebird and even Skywinder over any Wildcat unless what you're really saying is we really should check those out!

Not sure last time I rode Wild One but seemed remarkably identical year after year. Seems I'm overhearing complaints on almost every ride nowadays, but Wild One has always tried to hurt you, by design, on the way back if you aren't holding on and paying attention.

Maybe Universal could make this a Kids park? Comcast would have the money to buy the property and split it up for different uses, and carve out 100 acres for themselves for a park like Frisco, and the rest becoming mixed residential and commercial use. It would be a way to buy-in to the region without needing to go through years of exploration work behind the scenes.
If Universal buys it, it’s to build one of those year round horror attractions, we already know they’re looking at the land Marineland sits on to build one of those, wouldn’t be shocked to see them try that here

It would fill the county’s preference to have an entertainment facility there.

which got me thinking:
what if they redevelop Six Flags America into a area15 like district

I just had an extended chat with Six Flags support re: Legacy Memberships. According to the representative I spoke to, SFA Legacy Memberships are not slated to terminate following the closure of SFA—instead they will continue to be usable at all Legacy Six Flags parks just as they can be this year.

Unfortunately, according to this rep, with the upcoming closure of SFA (presumably because Legacy Memberships have to be managed out of their home park and these memberships will now be homeless), Six Flags has no way to add a 2026 All-Parks Passport to Legacy SFA Memberships. I was advised that if I wanted access to legacy Cedar Fair parks, the solution would be to cancel my Legacy SFA Membership and buy a new Pass to a different property and get an All-Parks Passport that way.

I probably won't make any changes until I speak to guest services at SFA in-person as maybe they know something that chat reps don't, but right now I may have to buy a promo KD pass to get legacy Cedar Fair access in 2026. Still REALLY don't want to give up the Diamond Elite VIP benefits I get at Six Flags parks so I'll probably continue to "diamond hands" that thing too, but we'll see.

I’m seeing reports that the back area of the park have already been closed down so Batwing, Superman, Wonder Woman, Penguin are all SBNO now.
That is not the case at least one the weekend. I believe they did pull the plug on Batwing but Superman and Wonder Woman have been operating at least some days.

So a thought of Fright Fest. It's had a history of pretty big innocents and bad press. IF and I will say it's a major IF another company is making a bid that SF is seriously interested in maybe cutting it makes decent sense to avoid bad pr.

Superman is listed as Temporarily Closed on the website which doesn't sound like a weekend thing. Rapids has been running again after a 7 day break, but according to someone's inquiry is dependent on attendance and staffing. Best non-coaster ride in the park.

ACE has an event there this weekend and has confirmed with the park that their ERT on Superman is still on.
