I can only speak for myself, but living in the Baltimore area, KD is often a pain in the ass to get to. SFA was easy. So not sure much will shift to KD, however, getting to SFGAdv, while a bit pricey in tolls, is super easy. So I could see people with SFA as their formerly closest park, might go to SFGAdv instead. Though... either way the visits are going to be fewer. Neither KD nor SFGAdv are an off-the-cuff visit kind of place for me, whereas SFA was.

Clearly none of you have experience with Connecticut driving doing 90 on 95 with Dunks in hand, laptop open, and on an earnings call.
Connecticut is so cute when it tries to go hard.

At times when those speeds are sustainable on 95, the real NYC and Boston pros are doing exactly the same - but over on the Merritt and Hutch. Not in an attempt to be quicker than 95, but rather for the pure love of the pro game.

Anyway, a buddy and I are planning to hit SFA sometime this season and I’ve had to push him to agree to June, because IMO there’s no telling what will or won’t still be operating by August.

We’re little but we try.

would the park end up like Astroworld or would it end up like Elitch Gardens and Kentucky Kingdom? that's the question since SF America's gonna leave in 2025

Status (non)update re: legacy memberships I received via customer service today:

Unfortunately, we are still awaiting a decision on what the direction will be for our Legacy members. Once a decision has been made a mass email will go out to all Legacy members accordingly.

It's becoming increasingly hard to believe that a decision hasn't been made and, if a decision hasn't been made, there's no excuse for that either. I believe Six Flags has a responsibility to provide their paying customers with critical information about the future usefulness (and hence current value) of the product they're actively paying for. Super disappointed that the corporation is still unwilling to provide info.

The only theory I have is that possibly legacy passes as a whole are about to be gone an a new combined pass system may be released an that they are waiting on announcing that till the end of summer.

Could? Yes. Likely? No.

I could see any of the other Six Flags parks get something though.

This was a really interesting video. Thanks for posting. It sounds like the county wants a large entertainment complex to fill the void Six Flags will be leaving. It is a private sale which means it is in Six Flags court as to who they choose to sell to, not the county.

On this note, the representative said towards the end of the video in regards to who Six Flags Sells to, the county hopes Six Flags will "Put concept over money". My first reaction to this was a laugh followed by, "yeah... okay..." Unfortunately for the county, Six Flags probably doesn't want to have heavy competition in the form of entertainment coming into the same area they just chose to sell.

Two elements of this sale that could entice Six Flags to uphold the idea of "Concept over money" are 1. rezoning and 2. Money.

1. That area will have to be rezoned if it is not going to be entertainment. This would cost more money to an investor and/or Six Flags in order to prep the land for an investor.
2. Money. How much money a buyer is willing to put up for the land, regardless of it's intended use is a big selling point. Six Flags may be willing to sell to an investor that plans to keep the land zoned as entertainment if the price is right. Plus the county representative did THROW DOWN a low key threat of going to court, if Six Flags tries to sell to someone who wants to use the land for something other than entertainment.

I personally would love to see this area developed as an entertainment complex to provide some new healthy competition and fun for us all. However, Six Flags could very well have other hopes in mind. The wrestling arena has been set. We shall see what happens this August!

It's worth noting that the broker SF contracted with is advising it as suitable for housing, industrial, or commercial. Whilebinwas initially quite hopefull that SF and the county would work together on a sale I increasingly believe that SF is going to sale to someone that want to build something other then entertainment and use the threat of leaving it a crumbling eye sore as leverage to get it rezoned. But time will tell

Made the hike down from NJ for the first time in 4 years to visit. Man, honestly I was depressed walking around here. JJ, Roar, Batwing, all closed. Park was empty. Really hope another company comes in here to give it the TLC it deserves if it’s not turned to housing or something else.

Sorry it was a bad day, that sucks.

Were Roar, JJ, and Batwing just closed for the day? I was planning to go on Sunday.
