RE: The ParkFans Network: Site Updates & Changes

I'm seeing ghost posts, should I be worried or is there something not ghosty going on back stage?

RE: The ParkFans Network: Site Updates & Changes

Ghost posts referring to there are no unread posts but the little bullets next to some of the KD forums indicate there are unread posts. You go to click on them and poof there is nothing there. I think last time this happened Zach said it was something they were working on behind the scenes.

RE: The ParkFans Network: Site Updates & Changes

I am also in the process of restructuring the KD forum similar to BGT and BGW. I should have that done by tonight

*crosses fingers*

Ok, so two things. First, Zachary and I were able to fix the "multiple recipients" issue with PMs. However any previous PMs will still say "multiple recipients", and there is no real way for us to fix that. Nobody besides the person you expressly sent your PM to has read it, even if it says "multiple recipients". It was just a software bug.

Second thing, there is now a default avatar for all users that haven't set their own. You can see it in action below.

The new editor now defaults to source mode but can be toggled by clicking the page button just as before. It's not as flashy, but BBCode is still a ton more functional and self-explanatory than the WYSIWYG side. It's great for previewing formatting and whatnot, but not for editing.

Oh my Jesus Zachary! Thank you! Thank you so much! This will make formatting way more easier and less complicated for me at least!

No, I believe he is showing you the new Alerts feature. Members can pick and choose what actions should pop up as alerts. Some examples include, if someone quotes you in their post, if someone posts in your thread, etc.

So through my hard work of reforming the reputation system, I finally got Zachary to enable Neutral reputation. Yes this is a small win for now, but hopefully we have not lost the war of Rep Reform.

But seriously, Neutral Rep is back as an option, I just wanted to give some tips to kind of help the rep system become more credible and really tune out the things that are not helpful.
  • Positive Rep - Leave real and nice remarks about something you think the user did right and what they should keep doing.

Am I the only one who thinks this has the potential to:

1. Quash debate out of fear of retaliatory Rep; and/or
2. Open the door to personal attacks?

Sorry to be so negative, but his does not fill me with glee.

It's not negative rep- it isn't detracting from a user's reputation count. We'll see how it goes- like everything else that has ever been changed, it's an experiment.
