RE: The ParkFans Network: Site Updates & Changes

I am pleased with the new interface. Even on my mobile device, I usually go to "Desktop" mode for everything I desire to see. The new design makes this switch unnecessary. Win!!

So far it looks good to me, I haven't seen any big flubs, but I have only been on it a few minutes ;)

I love it, very artisitic, and professional looking, haven't found any quirks yet, so it's looking very good right now! Also, I love the new donor system, it's so easy, I've already donated earlier today, when can I expect to see those benefits?

RE: The ParkFans Network: Site Updates & Changes

Thanks! Glad you enjoy it.

Also, a HUGE thank you for the donation- badge should show up now and the ad should be gone. :)

I noticed an issue that slipped past me. The money bags. They aren't explained on the donor page. I assume they mean the person donated.

They just went away! Thanks so much now the forums are even better!

All the icons you see right now are still the legacy icons- once the theme goes live for everyone the icons will be ported over to the new system- it's explained better in a thread in the donor forum (as it applies to donors).

RE: The ParkFans Network: Site Updates & Changes

In regards to the new theme, there is an icon to open the User CP on the right but not an icon to close it. Is that going to be added?

RE: The ParkFans Network: Site Updates & Changes

A lot of the navigation occurs in the sidebar now so it's more or less required to be visible a lot of the time. That said, current donors are still able to open and close the sidebar if they so desire but, unfortunately, because the ad appears there, we can't allow people who are supposed to see the ad to hide it like that. Sorry. :-/

RE: The ParkFans Network: Site Updates & Changes

Because I run Chrome with AdBlock the whole sidebar is gone for me. Until I opened BGWFans in IE last night I never knew there was a sidebar or a way to donate.

RE: The ParkFans Network: Site Updates & Changes

Adblock should not block it as there is an ad block detector and it swaps out the ad with a sad faced puppy.

All I know is that I have no sidebar at all on my Chrome with AdBlock which I am running right now. I just pulled it up on IE and voila...it is there. I have no sad canine either; just a centered forum page. If AdBlock is not the reason, perhaps it is something else.

You see these?

How about making the ad a separate object from the User CP? It's really not a big deal, I'm just curious.

RE: The ParkFans Network: Site Updates & Changes

That's not really possible. You need the sidebar, it contains all of the site's navigation.

RE: The ParkFans Network: Site Updates & Changes

I don't understand what the big deal about the ads is. They're barely even noticeable. Whatever it takes to keep the site running. ;)

Perhaps it is something else, indeed. Thanks for your help Zachary and Evan while I go to the remedial corner for today.

RE: The ParkFans Network: Site Updates & Changes

Anyone on the new theme: If unread posts or the like looks off, ctrl + refresh. Massive optimization there today. Also, park-specific site icons have been added to the header with a fancy animation.
