The first half is great and so are the waterfalls, but that section in between is lacking in comparison.

Anyone know why they changed the method of spacing out rafts heading into the station? There used to be a gate that opened after a certain time delay for that purpose. Now the lift into the station stops and starts instead. I hate sitting still on that lift at a weird angle baking in the sun as it stops and starts.

So many big dollar additions coming and some needed (someone say dark ride?) but after seeing what Knott's did, hopefully this antique is on a rehab list somewhere. (Probably for BGW's 80th anniversary)

I hope it gets rehab-ed, but its a boooooooring layout.

At has better theming and get's me soaked more in comparison to WWC at KD. Just sayin'.

Explain how this ride is better themed than WWC? There’s also literally no functioning features left on this ride to get riders wet.

WWC, with its winding, circuitous layout through the woods, the dozens of enormous boulders that were imported onsite to bolster the canyon theme, the sawmill, and the geysers and waterfalls, I vastly prefer it to RR which is basically a short loop through a concrete trough.

Hmm, it's been many years since I set foot on WWC so I don't know if it is themed better or not. I guess I just like RR a little more because of how open it feels, with Apollo's Chariot close to it in comparison to WWC having a dense, closed off forest which I don't find very exciting IMO. But I will say more landscaping like flowers or stylized shrubs could be very welcome.

After riding WWC in the 80s, I remember my first spin on RR (its opening year, I believe) being a disappointment. It felt smaller than WWC, shorter, and the aqueduct waterfall stretch just seemed uninteresting to me.

The last time I rode either one was probably 20 years ago. Maybe longer.

I have a 4 year old who loves watching rides on YouTube and it's made me very depressed about Roman Rapids. The very worst part is the concrete trough with no attempt to blend it in. They could/should make some improvements!

Unless I'm mistaken, didn't they neuter the waterfall section a few years back so that instead of an actual waterfall it's a small stream of water that barely gets you wet?

I'm sure you're correct to an extent. They, more than likely, evaluated ridership counts and saw enough of a drop off to justify shutting down at 8pm.
