RE: Project 2018: RMC Hurler

Based on the descriptions provided by the park, I can say with utter surety that this is new Hurler:

Are we sure this is even a teaser for Hurler? Could this be related to Halloween Haunt somehow??? We haven't heard anything about Hurler, but have heard that there are changes in store for Haunt. Plus, this is the time of year when the Parks start putting out interest in their Halloween event....

One of the hidden words in one of the recent teasers was "2018," so I assume they refer to next year's project.

I also don't really get a "Halloween" vibe from these teasers. Sure, they're red and black, but that's just the color scheme of the cyber/hacker text... which doesn't really scream "Haunt" in my opinion.

We've literally heard that Hurler is returning in 2018 as well as seen tons of construction on the thing. It's for Hurler.

I'd add that we have seen other Hurler teasers, like the exclusive RMC Frappuccino.

Would they really do that after the botched planet snoopy expansion announcement?

Cedar Fair also just trademarked: RAILBLAZER

To me this sounds like a good rename of Mean Streak, but that does not mean they wont use it at multiple parks.

RMC coffee... sounds like a good way to sell more coffee.

I just don't see them hyping a renovation they haven't even acknowledged over their premier Halloween event. These are Halloween teasers all the way... we'll hear about the hurler project at the end of the year or during opening day next year. It will be a while before it opens anyway... why hype it now and overshadow Haunt???

I am not certain marketing is a zero sum operation. I think, if handled properly both an event and a long term investment can be marketed at the same time.

Consider how Coke markets both diet and non-diet drink at the same time. It could be argued (and it was for a long time, hence Tab) That by even having a drink called Diet Coke they are saying Coke is bad. But it works because there are separate demographics.

A renovation? It's a new coaster! Why would they not hype it up?
