Wild Thang and Rampage have returned to the WCUSA website. When you actually go to the Water Country slides list, you arent linked to them, however if you just type into google "Water country usa rampage"/"water country usa wild thang", their pages have both returned!

BGW regularly leaves outdated pages online and just removes them from relevant listings.

Not saying it doesn't mean something, but it probably doesn't mean much.

When some marketing intern, probably based in Orlando, is running the show potentially with an outsourced web dev team, sloppy results ensue though a 301 redirect is a nice touch.

Also interesting to note all of the pixels installed in their websites <head> section while they also use 2 GTM containers... And regular analytics.js too. Basically indicates in my professional experience that they don't know what they're doing and have potentials for bad or duplicative analytics data and also have a higher potential for security exploits. Poor job all around, and the sad part is it can be so easily cleaned up too.

I looked at their sitemap - https://watercountryusa.com/sitemap.xml - and found both Rampage and Wild Thang listed under Busch Gardens' domain. This means the pages, even if not listed on the navigation, are being crawled by search engines and being redirecting to 404 error pages - really poor form indeed.

Does that mean this is probably just an error?

My guess is they meant to pull the page completely and by default they stick it under the BGW domain thus making it discoverable to anyone whom knows where to look. Probably an error or an overlooked issue with any CMS tools they're using.

I'd also venture to guess that whenever they put together a page for Gemini it'll also be under the BGW domain on the sitemap even if that URI doesn't actually exist and redirects to a 404.

Again, they need help with SEO since the whole point of a sitemap is for search engine crawls: noindex directives and delisting content from that sitemap are good for essentially telling the search engines to go away instead of what they're currently doing basically saying something's here but it goes to an error and ultimately contributes to devaluing your site. Unless WC was a subdirectory of BGW's site instead of how it currently sits on its own domain, adding a second domain to a sitemap doesn't make any sense.

My guess is their CMS platform has BG as the true parent shell of the whole thing with BGW as a main container within; WC content would be buried within the BGW container as it's own folder - so from a lazy web dev perspective, it would make sense to build the sitemap following the CMS directory. However, since the purpose is telling search engines where the content is, each page needs to be on the same domain for it to be all that effective - it's like trying to assemble a Lego set and finding K'nex pieces somehow in the mix.

Man... was really hoping to get on Everglide's sister slide before it inevitably kicked the bucket. This stinks, I love these rides so much and they're becoming exceedingly rare now.
This may be a rare opinion, but this is my #2 ride at WCUSA… only behind Cutback.

Rampage (memory) Lives !!!! Seriously the should think about removing it from all aspects of their site:

Would you add Nitro-Racer to that list as well ?

I Personally think they would want to renovate: Big Daddy Falls and Malibu pipe line. I think Aquatica? recently got a new style of nitro racer. A new Jet scream complex would not hurt as well.

I am curious to see everyone's thoughts on these!
Anyone notice the different raft lift on there…

This is not entirely to do with this ride but now that there is a new map it has the ride on it wild thang is there but now rampage :((
