I would honestly rather see them just turn all the lights off and let me ride through in total darkness than all the half-assed broken effects.

Looks like BGW is planning a renovation to what they are calling the 'beer pavilion in the German themed area". @Zachary and I debated this one and we aren't 100% sure exactly what is getting the renovation. We suspect if it was the bar inside festhaus they would have said festhaus in the permit.. weird. Nonetheless it's an interesting development.
Please let this be an improvement to the godawful beer garden in Oktoberfest.
Pavilion doesn't really translate to anything in the Festhaus.
This could refer to either the snack place next to the games (Der Marktplatz?), the one next to the bridge at Alpengeist or the picnic area behind the festhaus.

I'm reading this as the catering area though could also mean the beer stand out in front of Das Festhaus or even the staircase/stage attached to it.

Throwing a wild thought out. The clock build was partially open tonight and looked like it had some prep work of some sort being done. Is there anything in it's history that might cause it to be described as beer themed?
I know in 2017 the tables around the back of the pretzel shop and stage were referred to as the bier garden.
In 1975, the plaza in front of the Wilkommenhaus was like the Festhaus of today. That’s where people drank beer and ate German food, so I think the permit is either referring to that area or the beer garden behind the pretzel shop, for the reason that @Irishman mentioned.
It seems to still be! And I agree, I think this is the area getting a renovation. I’m excited to see what they will do!

I’m extremely happy about this. That area needed a dire facelift. The only reason I would ever walk through it was so I could get to Alpengeist faster.
It’s always been my go-to pretzel-eating location, but it could certainly be cuter. While I doubt they’d do this, I’d love to see a small floral print on the umbrellas, instead of a solid color.
Anyone else feel like the park needs to do something with the inside of the Wilkommenhaus? It's such a beautiful and prominent building. It deserves some sort of signature eatery or experience or lounge or shop or something more than a generic soft serve ice cream stand and a discount merchandise rack.
