I noticed that they have pulled all of the boats put of the water this year. My memory can be fuzzy at tines but if it serves me right I don't think that they have done this before. Feel free to correct me if I am wrong on that. I also noticed that this year's drought has really hit the Rhine hard as its lower then I ever remember seeing it.

While we were heading back to the dock, one of the boat employees told us that originally busch had 7 boats, since there weren't as many rides at the time people would ride the boats much more often, but as time went on the original boats were scrapped and the ones they use now are second generation boats, he said they got the second generation boats in 2004 and have been using them ever since.

I'm certain there have only ever been three. The dock hasn't been modified since opening and it can't handle more than three boats. There would be no dock for them to sit at.

These boats are second gen boats though. The originals had masts and wheels on them, making them look more like actual sailing boats than the ones now.

Heck yes! I'm sure there's some factors that go into the theming of the boats for safety reasons or whathaveyou, but it just seems like a missed opportunity. Is your concept posted on the site somewhere?

I bet Entertainment would record a score and narration for a Howl-O-Scream ride and the cruise captains would just turn it off because it's annoying. It's happened before whenever there was a soundtrack for Illuminights. Otherwise, it's a great concept that I like to dream about.

Sad to see the Rhine River Cruise was closed this past Saturday (9/23) and appears to be closed for the remainder of the season. I liked doing the cruises in the fall to see the leaves changing as the weather cools. Also, no pirate themed / skull and crossbones coverings on top of the boats anymore... :(

I'm not sure why they are parked there specifically, but incidentally, there is a fishing pier near that side of the river. I doubt the two are connected, but that's an interesting find.
