Indeed. Canada's Wonderland and Carowinds each only had one launch coaster by the time their racing railway coasters were added. Especially with Rapterra swooping in this year (pun entirely intended), KD will now have three launch coasters - all of which are in the same section no less.Hopefully it they add another family coaster to planet snoopy it’s more “soap box racers” and less “racing railway.”
Yes, definitely painful. Last season was the first time my family had been to KD (I had a pass in the early 2000’s, but since getting married/having kids, we’d been strictly a BGW family. We decided to give KD a try last Spring, and I was floored by how much nicer the park was than my memories of the late 90’s/early 2000’s. While walking through Planet Snoopy, my wife and I couldn’t believe how much more there seems to be for the littles than at BGW, and it’s all in pretty good shape. My youngest son and my nephew got to ride both of these early in the season and really liked them. By Fall they were too tall (and finally—thank God!—into rollercoasters), so our family isn’t affected, but others will be. Also, just the impact on the landscape is upsetting. The 4x4s have a water feature that integrates with the waterfall nearby; if that’s part of the demolition, it’ll be a shame.Yeah, Road Rally is getting demoed. @Jahrules figured that out the other day and I was supposed to tell y'all. Whoops.
I had heard rumors about Joe Cool's demise and, unfortunately, can't say I'm surprised it's getting the boot.
Maybe someone with kids can tell us if these Planet Snoopy cuts are painful at all?
What was the link to this demo link? For some reason I can't seem to figure out how to search for Hanover County demo tickets. They did, however, file this. Which is what tipped us off.
I think the cow was removed when the ride was given a Peanuts overlay back in 2013 — I wonder if it’s backstage or in the boneyard somewhere.I'm sad to hear Road Rally is leaving. I rode those jeeps a ton as a little kid in the late 90s. There's a cow decoration along the track that has been at the park my entire life, I hope it isn't mindlessly scrapped.
I think Great Adventure still has the sign in the maintenance area. All the DC signs got boxed up in plywood cases and moved to Great Adventure when they sold GL to Cedar Fair.Batman: Knight Flight
