As we inch closer and closer to the 31st, a thought gelled in my mind:

We are fast approaching the point where construction should begin... and yet, we have no sign of any track on the move, including imported shipments. Whatever this thing is, I think it's being manufactured here. Has anyone been by Intermountain Lift lately?

SFFT isn't putting Premier on this. The reason why AlpenFury happened is because CW wanted their coaster done on an expedited two-year timeline and found a manufacturer that could dedicate 99% of their efforts to them, while SFFT had had a lot more time to cook. I also highly doubt this is S&S. I know for an absolute first hand fact that Intamin was involved pitching at one point but idk if that's still the case.

Honestly things could just not be shipped yet, I wouldn't really be worried until the fall. Yeah they arguably should be starting footers if they want to open up 12 months from now but no alarm button yet.

Could this be something like Pantheon then? Or potentially as intense as Velocicoaster?

No I'm not going to expand on the basic amount of insider info I'm chosen to put on the internet, thank you very much.

(Velocicoaster isn't even the most intense coaster in the state, it's just really good)

The only reason I've chosen to openly reference this occasionally is because the information is three years old now and it would benefit people to know that was a heavy consideration in the pitching stage (which yes did use this exact site). I'm not going to speculate on manufacturers because we've all been there and done that, should find out who actually got the project soon enough. Everyone who does know is keeping their mouths shut of course and I hope it stays that way.

It'd be really really nice to see a Pantheon look alike, no complaints there.

OT but if B&M was able to do it in 2 years, would that wing in in the concept survey actually been a reality?

Perhaps, CW is very buddy buddy with B&M. But that was an alternate idea to do something about the Amphitheater, a different avenue that they will certainly explore in the future. The decision was made to do the AlpenFury project first, they had more of an idea on what they wanted to do there.

The thing is that most coasters that size are multiple year projects, but CW wanted to rush AlpenFury for reasons known only to them and worked on an expedited 1-year RFP timeline once they figured out a path through the mountain, and then two years from signing in September 2023 to opening. Most manufacturers noped out almost immediately once they saw the insane timeline, which tbh is a super unusual request for a park to have. Premier was exactly the partner they were looking for. B&M was approached of course, but didn't go too far here on the basis of product.

For what it's worth... I've never really thought it was a family coaster and the "signature attraction" stuff only serves to convince me more of that. A Legacy Six park would not call a family coaster, no matter how excellent, a "signature attraction". This could easily be a first-of-its-kind in the state and I am beyond seated.

All that to say... if it turns out to be something like Big Bear, that would still serve them very well.

I strongly suspect there is some hyperbole at play here (85 MPH???), but interesting nonetheless. "Manufacturer already in the park"... perhaps this is, indeed, a Vekoma?

They also posted that it was a family coaster earlier before it was taken down. Take it with a grain of salt

I’m going to try to make a final prediction:

Between the park calling it an “significant attraction”, I’m starting to think less of a family-thrill launch coaster and more of a multi-launch thrill coaster by Vekoma…or Intamin (you know, since the term “once in the blue moon” means something very rarely happens)

One thing for sure (for me at least): between this and the Spurs Game 7 happening at the same time, gonna be a hell day for me and I’m not looking forward to it

I agree. I am leaning towards Intamin given the news that they were involved... but I would never whine about a Vekoma.
