Personally inconsequential as in a decision I have no agency in making? Sure, but this is an attempt at erasing one of the most significant architectural icons the state had and redefining a new era of amusement. I am opinionated about the built environment more generally and feel little need to defend my presence in public discourse surrounding it. If ur interested in my thoughts on other matters u can follow my current road trip here
I should know better by now, but...

How does this new ride in any way "erase one of the most significant architectural icons of the state"?

Ka is gone, is not coming back, and would have been gone whether or not this ride happened.

And I'm sorry, but "feel little need to defend my presence in public discourse"? Almost all you do here is lambast the project at every opportunity. If that is "little need," I'd hate to see what "large need" would be like.

big structure go bye. new worse ride go up repeating the same mistakes

regarding my negativity, what of it? should we all say nothing if we have nothing nice to say? I don't think that's a rule you always abide by. And it frequently seems to be you slighting me that compels me to respond

How do you know it’s going to repeat the same mistakes? The ride works completely different compared to Ka. LSMs are going to be way cheaper to maintain than an outdated hydraulic launch system that required millions to keep alive each year.

If Kingda Ka was “one of the most significant architectural icons the state had,” New Jersey is even more of a shithole than I thought.
Lol I don't know what to tell you. This is a perfectly defensible claim with the caveat that I didn't provide a time frame. Kingda Ka was the phallic foil to Zurab Tsereteli's notoriously vulvic To the Struggle Against World Terrorism in Bayonne (pictured) which broke ground in 2005 as well, and not much has happened architecturally in the state post 9/11. Architecture need not be good or tasteful to be significant or worth discussing, but being well-known amongst the general public (that is, people who are neither architecture nor roller coaster "enthusiasts") helps imo

Wow! This is shaping up to be one of the most significant architectural icons in the state!

so, if the ride's set to open in 2027, why they rising the ride early?

It's easier to build in the Spring than the Winter. If the opportunity is available, it's just all-around better to get this thing topped off ASAP.

The point of his post is that it's a mockup of what's happening on the ground now and what's likely coming soon. It's better than a photo and if you wanted a photo, it's linked a few posts above.
but I changed the comment to a friendly: this ride is meant for 2027 but the construction of it is fast

Choked on my PBR after a mind numbing day at work, thank you for this.

You, uh, do know they need time to build a coaster, let alone one this large, right…? There’s an incredibly significant amount of work to still be done on the coaster, let alone landscaping, theming, the queue, the station, etc.
