Don't think so. I think @MaxxForceFan was on to something with his train weight question either. These trains may be very stripped down to minimize the launch energy/track length required to make this coaster's height work.
You know what, if it means that the ride will be slightly more reliable, I'm fine with the trains looking like that upon a second look.

Another shuttle ride would be a better reference.
I used something with similar ride time because of length, MF is double the length.

Escape from Krypton is 0:27 time iirc. Ka was 0:28 iirc. Now those launch once and are at top speed quickly. But even at that the three launches and no swings 2:00 more is a lot of time.

Either they are adding load time, or there’s something else we don’t know yet.

Assuming they send trains continuously, a 02:17 cycle time means a max of ~26 trains per hour, and with 20 seats/train, that's a capacity of 520/hour.
Are we even sure that this thing is going to be really popular? Outside of when it initially opens, it may just turn into I305. I mean, a lot of people are going to get very nauseous. I'd imagine in a few years this is going to be an enthusiast only ride.

Yeah I feel like advertising a 2 minute and 17 second ride cycle is a bad thing, not a positive. That means it takes a minute for the switch track to move. Which can’t be right lol. Maybe there is a show scene ? But I feel like a pre-show would be better here, if the ride takes extra time it lowers capacity.

Besides the name and logo (which imo is awesome), the main thing I was looking forward to for the reveal is how the plaza area fits in to the rest of the boardwalk, but unless I missed something, they haven’t really shown that. Oh well, guess more reason to continue following construction updates.

Watching the animation, the trains do go pretty high up the outer bank. The first train goes slightly inverted beyond 90 degrees it appears which would be quite an insane sensation with only lap bars and being floorless.

I’m curious how they’re going to go about loading the floorless trains, specifically if there will be some sort of moving floor like B&M floorless coasters have. Hopefully they’ve figured out a way to load it without the moving floor since that could limit capacity even more.

We’re definitely getting ahead of ourselves here but I could easily see in like 8 years them marketing a new ride by changing one of the load platforms to non-spinning if it ends up being too much for people.

Here is the station from the animation…I really hope it does not look like this. If true, zero theming whatsoever bare-bones no preshow etc. You would think given two years they would have had the theming to show us in the presentation. The ride duration is pretty long as others noticed, hopefully we find out more details in the interviews going on today.

Are there any current floorless trains that load without a moving floor? You'd either need to move the floor or the train to avoid clearance issues and the latter seems more complex than the former.

From previous influencer posts, we've heard there will be shipping container theming, and the concrete work we can see has a 'rustic/industrial' vibe, so they probably just left it out of the render. Hopefully we'll find out more today as they release additional details.

Can't remember if it was pointed out before, but the grey platform here itself is on its own sliding rack, sitting on top of the larger switch track mechanism. TBD if the load side of the station will also have moving floor.

Still extremely unfortunate that the two tracks are connected on the SAME sliding rack, instead of being able to slide independently.

I wouldn't be too pessimistic re: scenic just yet based on the concept art and video. Given that Shoreline Pier didn't make it in at all, the mockup could be very dated.

In fact, I'd go so far as to speculate that the Bakunawa theme could be a pretty recent development. Hopefully that's another thing interviews will shed light on—was Phantom Spire actually intended to be used originally? When did the park decide to go with Bakunawa? There's a real chance that it happened recently enough to where the mockup was already done and the full scenic package for the ride simply hasn't even been fully designed/approved/signed for yet.

Yeah the animation does look unfinished no shoreline pier etc there is not even a sign of the ride logo on the station area. I do hope it is an enclosed station and a showroom is even more important now being a shuttle coaster and waiting in the station etc.

The off-ride rendering shows the third launch ending just a short distance above the ground. The construction photos show that the third launch actually goes to roughly the third 'level' of crossbracing in the tower. The 100mph top speed would have been believable if the third launch stopped barely off the ground, but if the train is still accelerating ~100 feet off of the ground, I call bogus on the announced top speed. That much kinetic energy, that far off of the ground would send the trains into the top bumper.

Unless there are trim brakes up there somewhere...
