If GVV does end up being a smokescreen it’ll be one of the best trolls I’ve ever seen from the industry

I hate that this announcement isn't open to the public. Great Adventure has theater spaces large enough to host a grandiose public announcement event, the park has the attention of more than enough people to draw a huge crowd to such an event, and I think it would do a lot to show an interest in communicating to all park fans, not just the "influencer class."

Have to say that I agree here. I think the implication points to them potentially opening the crate for the reveal (if they don't, not using the theater is lame), but I really don't see a good reason why they couldn't have given those invitees a kind of priority viewing area with passholders and such setting up near the boardwalk games.

I had intended to take off from work on the 28th to visit the park, but the exclusivity of the announcement is enough of a downer to make me glad that I never submitted the request. As funny as it would be to rope drop and marathon an abandoned Nitro on the opposite side of the park for an hour, I know I would want to find out about Project Purple by visiting the announcement area in person, and it would be near impossible to avoid spoilers prior to arriving at it.

I think GVV will be the tagline to the ride, like....

Bakunawa: Gargantuan Vertical Vengeance

or

The Gargantuan Vertical Vengeance of.....Bakunawa

was looking up some info about Bakunawa and found someone already added this in the pop culture section of the wiki page lmao. Seriously doubt it means anything really but I find it funny its stated so matter-of-fact anyways. Unless "Vortexf6" is not a thoosie tag, but actually Ryan Eldridge's wikipedia editing burner account /j

If the ride is truly Bakunawa themed they should put a giant moon in the middle of the spiral on top, it can glow at night

My bet is that if this is infact a part of the plan, The moon light prop won’t be going inside the tower,The moon will be going on top of the lighting rod or track.

Think about it, both the top of the track and the lightning rod have placements for what appears to be red lights for aviation markings but it would make no sense having 2 lights on a tower like that.

Put the red light on one and the moon during an eclipse on the other.
It actually works best this way since the Bakunawa attacks during eclipses so the moon has a reddish glow to it.
Works perfectly

Edit: adding the picture to show 2 completely different mounting systems for the top of the track and the supposed lighting rod:

When looking head on, the lighting rod is on the left of the ride. In every project purple teaser, the moon is on the left hand side of the track.

This would be so sick id they did it… naturally this is setting the bar high but the writing on the wall is there for it to be accurate
