Really hoping there's at least a livestream from the park. It's the least they can do, like literally the least since they're gatekeeping the announcement exclusively it seems through the youtubers and the time it'll take them to post stuff. I'm guessing a few of the usual suspects there will livestream it. But if you're not following any of them and in the general public, how will the average parkgoer know? I know many are in the dark on everything because they don't follow influencers and the park has shared little of what we all know about things happening around the park on their official channels, so how would the casual goer have heard? Every time I go to the park, I overhear people complaining about the park and the state of things, unaware of all the improvements in the works because they don't follow a Colin or El Toro Ryan or check thoosie social media. Hopefully the park puts out their own PR the same day with the details and posts it on the fence, too. This shouldn't be news anyone has to seek out after the fact. The signage should swap out all the Project Purple and teasers for the name and new artwork the same day.

Someone at the park will probably livestream it if the park doesn’t

The moon eclipses in this video. To me, this basically confirms Bakunawa

Yet, it seems the creature can fit and has been trapped in a trailer. Only hangup I have with all the possibilities of giant monsters.

Keep in mind that Great Adventure is clearly following speculation very closely. Basically impossible to know if the eclipse is a reference to something like Bakunawa or if it's Great Adventure, once again, trolling the fans. Maybe I just have my tinfoil hat on too tight, but given the awareness Great Adventure has been displaying, I don't think we can take anything we've seen at face value just yet.

I have had some criticisms for certain ways Great Adventure has been handling some aspects of their communications, but at least for me as a thoosie, I've enjoyed the "teaser season" for this project immensely. Great work by the park on that front for sure.

Where did the Bakunawa talk come from? I think it’s actually a solid name but why are we so sure?
Just speculation generally tieing into the basic traits we know, i.e. sea monster, purple, the moon featured in several teasers. There are other aspects that conflict with the possibility, so it could just as easily be something other than bakunawa.

Ill eat my words when the announcement happens, but being so close to Shoreline Pier, i dont know if im locked in on this having a name and theme from the Philippines.
I just don't see a reason why it has to be an existing name and couldn't be an original creation for this ride. Rapterra isn't based on legend. They could call this Serpenterra for all we know. I'm sure if we all brainstormed sea monster names we could come up with a few that are cool and original. From a financial standpoint, it'd be a lot easier than trying to trademark a widely known and used name like kraken or bakunawa or cthulu.

It came from a single Reddit “what if” post, which is honestly why I’m not sold on it being the theme at ALL. Would be cool if it is, but I’m not buying shit lol.
Feels like a classic example of enthusiasts speculating, getting really attached to their own speculation, convincing themselves it’s true, then getting mad when the actual reveal is different even though there was no evidence their preferred name/theme/ride/etc was even considered

That's basically the entirety of this ride's construction.
