I've said it before on this thread, and am fully prepared to look like a fool on the 28th, but they won't do two "Vertical V____" for their two newest headling coasters. With both Phantom Spire and GVV being teased within the park, I really believe it'll be something completely different.

Then again, this park goes with the head scratcher every time. I'd bet against myself if I were yall 🤣

He also was sure that Hershey Park wasn't using AI generated art for their merch so can we really trust his judgement?
(not to diverge from the topic) but not only that (which I HATE him for), he also seems to always glaze great adventure and can't physically say anything negative without feeling like he's going to be shot on site. Can't stand him.

I wouldn't say I hate him, but all thoosie youtubers are part of commodifying fun in some sort of FOMO-inducing way especially as it relates to "exclusive experiences" that I just don't like to support. That's the more ideological side. More viscerally when I'm in their vicinity and they're making content in parks I feel it actively detracts from my enjoyment, which sucks because they're generally privileged above the average guest when it comes to the parks' management, so it's not even something that feels like it's worth complaining about. There's just an overall lack of awareness that other people are paying to have fun, not to be in their b-roll (that's not to say I think every photographee should sign a waiver, the people in question just generally act as content creators first and people second)

Not that I think it’s right or anything ….

But, when it comes to the untethered access content creators have had with project purple, one must venture to guess it comes with a small stipulation of “positive PR only”

Like most YouTubers or Streamers when it comes to advertisement work, They’re limited in scope on conversational topics outside of the advertised subject. Thus, positive feedback is the path to the pay day so to speak. Or in this case, access is the pay day.

I don’t ever care because the access provides access to us as well.

Don't worry we have more than enough park negativity here to balance it out.

Yes he is positive about just about everything they do, but he is also just posting a lot of raw footage and updates. Makes it easy for people to frame it however they want. It's not like the park is giving him free meals cooked better for him so he can show off how great everything is. If my home park was getting as much improvement as GA is and I was allowed to film behind the scenes I would be just as happy about it.

The last comment is why I think overall, this is beneficial even if there’s nitpicks to be had at the higher treatment granted towards creators. Sure, Project Purple was always destined to be a game changer for the park in the face of their direction, but having continual weekly updates with Coliwood reporting from the site, keeping the community informed and on their knees about speculation & information about the ride has been fun and I thank Coliwood, ElToroRyan & other fellow creators that have done so for the past few months. And with the park granting them this access, it’s truly amazing to see how transparent and communicative the park has been with its fans and guests. We haven’t seen this in a very long time.

LOL

Don't worry we have more than enough park negativity here to balance it out.

It's literally just me, and the only reason I have to be so prolific is because the insidious positivity is so prevalent because so many content creators have something to gain from it

Also it would not at all surprise me if Colliwood has gotten some free food

For what it’s worth he usually talks about how much he paid for his food with the diamond elite discount

Also laughing at the improvement this year is ridiculous, yes the park was obliterated at the end of 2024 but I personally haven’t seen sweeping improvements across the park like this since I first visited in 2014. And looking at park history you have to go back to plaza carnival opening I’d imagine, so 20 years. Whether or not you like the additions is another story, but not sure there’s another park in the country that has received more TLC this year + a whole refresh and extended area of the park

I don't consider the scale of the destruction to have been made up for, so the fact that the glazing in question occurs in response to a *start* at restoring the park to what it once was is, indeed, funny to me. Great Adventure is STILL getting less than it deserves. I'm sorry if relocated flats and recycled shuttle designs (still in numbers too small to make up for the initial destruction) are the epitome of "improvement" to you. I can at least IMAGINE better; A modern parachute ride and gondola/skyride for example. I'm not gonna applaud mediocrity that upsells itself to the degree that something like Shoreline Pier does. It looks nice for what it is.

I cannot imagine wasting so much of my free time dumping on a ride I've never been on. The behind the scenes content has been cool for me, I enjoy the content and has gotten me excited than I normally would have without it.
He absolutely pays for his food as notated in his videos. He also has said negative things about the ride but unlike some, has changed his opinion on it the more he learned about it (like me).

If he has a "positive pr only" relationship with park admin, to me that means we can trust his word that it isn't GVV. If it was, and he said it wasn't, I'm sure park officials would be pissed and maybe revoke his access. That would be setting fans up to be upset.

Hoping GVV is an elaborate prank on overly analytical thoosies.

(like me)
... and u have nothing to say about how his framing of that "negativity" and the eventual "opinion changing" has made it appeal more to you? you can easily imagine wasting so much of ur free time doing strictly positive pr for a ride you've never been on?

It's all subjective, of course, but I never cared much for the parachute ride (not that I actively disliked it, but it just felt so lackluster.) And I hardly ever rode the skyride. So, putting in new versions of those wouldn't excite me at all.

My only nitpick about Shoreline Pier is that two of the five rides feel redundant: Flying Scooters and Wave Swinger. They're such similar experiences. I would replace one of those with something like a Tilt A Whirl, a Music Express, a Spider, etc.

Maybe being a roller coaster enthusiast means you are enthusiastic when the 5th tallest coaster in the world is being built in front of you and you can truly see the scale of the ride beyond some NL2 renders. To be honest not sure how you can’t be at least a little excited seeing the scope and speed of construction, how impressive the birds’ nest area looks, LSMs on an inverted stall that looks like it’s the length of the football field, etc.

I get you don’t like it and that’s completely fine as you are entitled to your own opinion and I do respect you haven’t changed it at all - but it’s kind of bizarre you don’t understand how people are excited for this ride. Yes the capacity will be mediocre, and maybe a full circuit 200ft tall coaster would’ve been a better ride, but the fact of the matter is this is what’s getting built so we might as well look forward to it. This thing has the potential to be legitimately crazy intense, outer-banked at 350ft+ in the air and a vertical 300+ foot drop.
