I've been on a fair number of park construction sites over the years, but damn, watching the videos coming out today is pretty wild. The level of access SFGAdv is offering thoosie content creators is sorta insane. Don't think I've ever seen media allowed to basically walk right alongside a piece of track being transported from the lay-down yard to the site to watch it be installed. Even on entirely private tours I've had for major projects with marketing representatives, parks are always so squeamish to let you anywhere near that close to active construction work.

In the modern world of risk management, this is pretty wild. I guess it’s worth it for the amount of free publicity they get.

Big shoutout to Ryan Eldredge too. I’m 26 years old and he’s probably the best PR/manager person that the park has had in my lifetime.

Same age and he absolutely is without question. I mean no disrespect to our past PR reps, but Ryan is personable and passionate on a level I’ve never seen before.
I think the others did the best with what they were given (Kristen was solid and was with the park for a very long time) but Ryan’s ability to navigate through the storm of Ka’s demolition (iirc he wasn’t with the park until after all those decisions were made) and still being able to make people excited about the future shows how much of a gift he has when it comes to what he does. Him appearing on podcasts, doing interviews, and allowing events like today to happen show that he’s truly passionate about the park and its future and not just someone who’s doing what he has to do because it’s his job.

I mean, the last time we got a strata was Ka itself. That said, we’ve also only got 8 gigas, so they wouldn’t be wrong to say that doesn’t come around often either
I mean if we want to be technical... Top Thrill 2 was the last strata. Last ground up one was Ka. On an semi-related note, isnt Great America looking at a Giga? Wouldnt Great Adventure know that? In my own inferences, i think we're looking at a strata. Barely one, but a strata.

My guess is that it’ll be 400ft on the dot, and they’ll do whatever they gotta do wiggle room wise to be able to define it as such

That’s totally fine with me if it happens, anything above 350ft on this type of ride is going to be an unreal experience

Continuing with the assumption that it will be themed as a lighthouse, the station should be themed to look like rocky caves in the water, with sounds of wind and water splashing up against it. Then the train could be themed to look like a sea serpent that shoots out of the rocky caves and attacks the light house.
sorry, still lost on the lighthouse theme how does the name phantoms spire have anything to do with a lighthouse or are we just assuming that the name is phantoms spire and not used for a random other attraction in the SF chain?

It could possibly fit in with an abandoned lighthouse, one that’s deteriorated so much to the point of it just being a spire

Probably doesn't need to be anywhere near this literal honestly. Easy to imagine it working in a bit of dramatic storytelling.

"Beyond the dark reaches of the boardwalk, a long-abandoned lighthouse haunts the horizon—a phantom spire towering in the gloom. To a side-long glance, a ghastly light occasionally flickers within its beacon-chamber; yet it is a spectral flame, eluding the eye the moment it's met by a full and steady gaze."

He says this was taken yesterday at 1030. Look at the track laid

They haven't pre-staged any parts for the larger crane(s) (or the cranes themselves) expected for tower/stall construction, though I wouldn't expect them to arrive too far in advance of their use. The FAA approval is still pending, though some similar submission-date approvals have recently been approved.

I wonder what the theme would be for Phantom Spire. How would that name fit into the boardwalk? Purple does not match a lighthouse and seems perhaps ghostly. If it is themed to something gothic or haunted it may be out of place. I liked the haunted lighthouse idea and would fit the boardwalk. Maybe that’s still the plan? But I don’t think the purple tower would resemble a lighthouse.

Do we know for certain that any of the dark supports that are on site right now are for the tower? Could the tower supports perhaps be white or light grey, with purple track (the "phantom") circling around it?

We haven't had specific confirmation. The only indication so far is that some are bigger than the others as indicated by the content creators onsite.
