So this has to be a record breaking water coaster right? I wonder if they’ll be working with Intamin on the Giga Splash model being brought over, or if it’ll be a Mack-Rides model with something like an elevator as part of it.
The intakin super flume mentioned in the survey over the summer was said to have the “worlds tallest plunge”…

I’m still partial to Mack as the manufacturer, but if they go with the layout presented in the survey, it actually aligns almost perfectly with the Rapids plot of land:

Personally I’m just not a fan of water stuff outside of the water park. I just want a traditional coaster or a big RMC in Hurler’s spot.

I hope it will please others though! I will not lie I am at least intrigued by it and will definitely look forward to hearing more!

Also another big thanks to this site for still operating so we can discuss such matters ❤️. It actually means a lot now that Carowinds Connection passed on.

Replace the Rapids or the Boardwalk area with a new Pirate-themed land (North Carolina has a history of pirates in the Outer Banks). Maybe throw in a new family flat (Pirate Ship) or kid play area, and a tavern for atmosphere. Works for me.

I have not been a fan of the boardwalk area. It would feel better with a water ride if they replaced Cyclone with one. Shucks add a few flats in the area would be great.

The Boardwalk needs to return to Frontier Outpost theme. The majority of the buildings are still frontier style. Goldrusher station, Cyclone station, the railroad station (sweet frog) and the wonderful building that was the cable skyway station are still the original theme. Some with a little paint on them.

Pirate Island does need to return somewhere. It would be a better theme than Action Zone (not a theme) in that area.

I can see some plans for Project Otter have been uploaded, but I am unable to access them.

From what I can tell, this appears to be a new maintenance road running from the right of the former Rip Roarin' Rapids entrance towards the Fury325 boneyard. It'll be interesting to see if they remove the maintenance road that runs behind Scrambler / Carowinds Theater / RRR entrance.

^I have seen some speculation that the entrance for the new ride will be where Scrambler is located and that Scrambler will be moved to Scream Weaver's location.

If this is true, I hope they revert Scrambler back to its original name of Kaleidoscope. I’m also curious as to what direction they go with theme-wise, whether they new flume will be part of Carousel Park or a new themed area.

Super Flume it is!

Nice find. I think this is a perfect fit, and crossing fingers for decent theming.

Also based on the station location, I wouldn't be surprised if they extend the path from Thrill Zone/Fury to this ride and then to Carousel Park. They are relocating the service road to the other side by the Palladium.

Work has started on the new maintenance road, and partial demolition of the former Rip Roarin' Rapids. Note that the wooden elevated queue, station, and conveyor belt has been removed.

Quite the forest to take down. Hopefully they retain some trees for this attraction.
