Maybe we'll see a flat ride, and a brand-new restaurant along with the new water ride. Maybe it could even loop around and connect to the Fury Plaza. Who knows?

Love everything about this, especially if there’s good theming involved

A new set of detailed site plans have been released. There will be an all new path from Carousel Park to Fury 325 and a new Restaurant. There is also a bit of left over land that could be used for a compact rollercoaster or a flat ride in the future. Full plans attached below.
Really glad they're seemingly doing a refresh of that area with the new ride. Do you know if the height of the flume is anywhere in the plans?
I'm not sure what the tallest log flume in the world is right now, but pretty sure anything over 60-75 feet will break a record. The drawings make it seem pretty tall though, like at least 100 feet. It could also have a steeper drop... or it could just be marketed as the only log flume that has forwards and backwards drops in the US?
Also it seems like this will be a new themed area as it doesn't fit with Thrill Zone or Carousel Park... and I wonder if future restaurant means next year or further out.

Oh nice! New shortcut to Fury and I don’t have to walk as close to Vortex!
my guess giving the fury 325 mascot is a bug and bugs are common in forests, thrill zone & maybe the carousel park will get rethemed to a forest themed area
GIVE HURLER A WOODLAND RUN/GRIZZLY RENOVATION AND THEME IT TO THE AREA! Then tear out Slingshot, tie in Cyclone somehow, tie in Ricochet too. Make where drop tower used to be a new path and put a NEW drop tower in the Slingshot plot. Floorless Vortex and BOOM! New area!
If it's true that "Timber Hallow" is going to be the area name then that'd make a lot of sense
Is this a confirmed name? I can’t find anything on the site plans except the Project Otter name.
Someone posted they applied for the trademark earlier in this thread. Not confirmed what it’s going to be used for though
Ah ok, I see on the last page. I really like the name, and Rip Roarin’ Falls is a great tribute to the Rapids attraction that used to be there.
This might be a bit off-topic, but I’m seeing some red flags with Vortex. The potential reworking of Carousel Park’s midway puts the new entrance for the themed area right near Vortex’s extended queue, which—along with the ride itself—is starting to look outdated.
Vortex is like a ticking time bomb. It opened in 1992, and with rides like Nemesis from 1994 already being retracked, its time is clearly running out. Carowinds will have to make a decision—and we all know the Six Flags-style approach: if it’s broke, don’t fix it—get rid of it.
That would take us back to the Kentucky Kingdom-style renovation. Removing Vortex opens up a perfect plot for new family attractions. With most kids’ rides on the opposite side of the park, this area needs more balance. The new log flume helps with that—and bringing back the train currently in storage and integrating it into the new themed area would complete the transformation.

It's been this way for a while now. What I could see happening is: for 2027 is a smaller attraction (relocated Giant Discovery from SFA going to the Drop Tower space? Or something else cheaper than a new coaster) while Vortex is removed and work begins on a new coaster replacing Nighthawk, Vortex, and the Sky Coaster space. Along with the 2026 Flume that really changes the front half of the park.
Maybe there's an extra year in between all these things happening but the idea of keeping Vortex around AND the footers from Nighthawk tell me that they have big plans here, and there is still more land clearing to come - likely because the replacement project is close (rather than tearing out the footers and seeding the area for grass). Vortex being a smaller coaster may have saved it in the short-term.
I really hope they bring back the train, considering it was an opening day attraction. “Timber Hallow” would be a perfect area for it, and it was scrapped from the Camp Snoopy expansion plans for this year. It’s still sitting under Fury though, so I hope it makes its way into this area.
[Edit] In the bottom right corner, there is an undeveloped plot between the flume and the maintenance road. Could possibly turn up later during construction.

The entrance portal to the new area appears to be where the drink stand next to the foliage tunnel is currently.
This new pathway to fury will be much more pleasant, and a great first impression for guests heading straight from the entrance towards Fury. The current path is quite an eyesore, and I certainly wouldn't mind it being blocked off and/or re-imagined.
Overall very excited for this addition. Can't wait to see final details be released in the coming months! Hoping for a nice looking area.
