News Project 2026: Shoreline Pier (Boardwalk Phase I feat. Barrels O' Fun & More)

Not saying anything new here, but they absolutely hit it out of the park with Shoreline.

They really did. They absolutely cooked.

I thought it was an error when I saw 7 (!) new shows on the calendar for Boardwalk Nights today. A bunch of them were right in the heart of the pier; the area just feels incredibly alive at all times. Everything culminates in an 8:45 stage show that combines every performer, even the ones from the midways, into a 20 minute extravaganza. It's excellent. Compared to the entertainment options we had at this time last year, we're getting spoiled rotten.

Something I will say is that they installed one very ambitious queue for Hypno Twister. A full queue would probably be, no exaggeration, about a 4 hour wait, especially with the ride being Fast Lane eligible. Fun tip: if you select the seat closest to the ride entrance (facing the pier), you'll be paused in the air directly facing the Project Purple construction site when it's time for the next group of riders to board.

Boardwalk/Shoreline Pier stuff from 8:15 to 21:41 and 28:13 to the end of the video. Gives a real good sense of the energy and vibes in that part of the park and shows off everything Boardwalk Nights has to offer.

They've got a drop tower in there. And somebody soaring on a sail/parachute?! "Never Eliminated?" Dude, they just eliminated four rides in the last two years, including the parachute drop sort of alluded to in the shirt. WHAT THE HELL IS EVEN THAT?

Unfortunately it is a fortnite/sixflags AI abomination. The characters and weird things are all part of the game. It makes no sense in out out of context. This merch is absolute insanity

I don't think some of the stuff is that terrible, but a lot of it is.

I'm probably in the minority, but instead of a shirt I'd totally put one of the beach warning flag signs in my office.

Random thought but @sfgadvfan91 's post gave me an idea: I think it would be pretty cool if the entrance for Project Purple or Shoreline Pier in general used nautical flags to spell out "Six Flags" and "Shoreline Pier".

^Going to assume nothing has changed since Saturday. If so, we're still waiting on Wave Swinger and Barrels O' Fun. Construction on Wave Swinger looks complete with all seats in place.

I saw the FB post yesterday and people were thinking by these pics that all the paining and restoration was done backstage at SFA and then shipped to Great Adventure.
