Coliwood Studios is saying that Superman is anticipated to be ready opening day, so seemingly no repaint for 2026. I'm thinking a Superman retheme will be part of phase 2 since it doesn't look like they've done anything to the ride this off season, the Superman theming is all still there as of a couple weeks ago.

I’m curious as to how they anticipate having Superman ready for opening day when the entire rest of the Boardwalk won’t be ready until late spring, unless it’s truly just the new ride(s) that won’t be ready and they’re planning on hauling ass on everything else.

I'm thinking they'll get the new surface in the walking area done and the landscaping there, and what we'll be waiting on are the changes/additions off the path. So folks can get to Superman without a problem. We saw permits for demo of three of the six game booths, so I imagine they may block off the path going by whichever set of 3 is being demo'd and direct people up the pathway next to the set that aren't.

We saw a pretty Herculean effort undertaken with Rapterra at Kings Dominion in 2024 to build the entire coaster while keeping all of the other rides in the area guest accessible. Assuming they're plotting the same playbook, expect a long, narrow path of Epcot-overhaul-style construction walls through the middle of the construction site.

I think the rumor about Superman being open all season probably does give us a good idea of the scope of Phase I of this overhaul. I imagine it will be largely focused on the south side of the area + wherever the specific ride(s) is/are going in. Presumably a lot of the land will be left for Phase II in 2027 or even subsequent phases in the years beyond.

You'd imagine that with the new coaster and all the landscaping involved they'd probably wait to do Superman (if re-theming is happening) and maybe some of the Lantern plot next to the new coaster station near the Boardwalk plaza until this fall/winter/spring for the spring '27 opening of the new coaster and general area up there. If this spring is phase 1, maybe what I'm talking about is phase 2, and maybe in the '29 offseason there's a phase 3 that sees something done with the go-cart track and Right Stuff building.

I can see a new flat ride where looping starship used to be and maybe another flat ride in the old dare devil dive location (don't know about half of green lantern land that phantom spire didnt tookover, maybe a new coaster?)

maybe the go karts will temporary be rethemed to a boardwalk theme until a new addition for 2029 take over the go karts

My feeling about that is it could go to literally any park instead. It's also got a very tailored-in Steampunk theme that is still fresh, although we all know Six Flags isn't above redoing visuals to fit in. But those gears just still aren't going to match whatever vibe they're going for here, while it'd be snug literally anywhere else. The Flyers are a far more natural fit (and super easy shop job). I'm also surprised that wasn't the first ride at SFA to be disassembled, given that parks set up and take down Nebulaz' all the time for offseason work. Perhaps the urgency isn't there.
I’d personally think that SFNE would be a better fit, given their new steampunk theme with Quantum Accelerator.

Interview with Ryan where he confirms multiple rides are coming as part of the boardwalk transformation and they should be there by late spring. Further developments (unique experiences, retail, dining and the '27 coaster) will be subsequent to those. Additionally confirmed that the boardwalk area will see a multi year project.

Full interview isn't out yet but should be out soon from ACE.

Further announcements in the next 3 weeks, seems like some of the ride package is still being confirmed and they want to announce the slate at once.

Definitely feels like a last minute airlift of used attractions from SFA if the lineup is still not solidified, yeah? Presumably they'd like to have them, at minimum, fully, successfully disassembled and inspected prior to an announcement? Hopefully we can get a better idea of what is leaving the SFA site in the coming weeks.

I think we're likely getting a chunk from SFA, especially if the flats were unsold or seen as more valuable internally. But I also think we might be getting at least one new flat. The lead time on them isn't as long as a coaster, and there very well could've been an order from SF or legacy CF for a slate of flats and they're trying to see which (if any) they get before the announcement.

There was a different interview with Ryan I heard a few days ago that implied they aren't entirely sure what will be coming in 2026 and what won't be opening until 2027, so the full announcement is probably being held until that is ironed out. From what was said, this is very much a two year project headlined by the new coaster, and while they want to have something to offer guests this season, they aren't going to rush anything just to get it open.

Really hoping there’s some nods to all the boardwalks in NJ. Pretty cool that they included Ocean City in the teaser today. As someone born and raised in Jersey, they have so many options to make this area feel authentic to the shore - I’d love to see boardwalk style pizza, zeppoles and pork roll make an appearance on the food end!

Honestly, they can skip the pizza because I know I’ll just be disappointed it isn’t a slice of Sawmill. One of the few things I miss about NJ.
I’ve been going to Sawmill since I was a kid, unfortunately I feel the quality has slipped a bit and it’s super hit or miss now. Decent for a big slice but Maruca’s is the king of the boardwalk for sure.

Never did care for Maruca’s, sauce is too sweet imo. Have unfortunately heard that Sawmill’s quality has slipped from a few people, though.

Pork roll though? An absolute necessity in a NJ boardwalk themed area, and a crime that they don’t already serve it.

That’s fair, it is pretty sweet lol

For the pork roll, let’s get freaky. Make the signature item for Phantom Spire a pork roll egg and cheese on a purple Kaiser roll. Unless Heinz wants to bust this bad boy into production again 😂

If they can license ingredients/recipes and staff from Mack's, and make the pies fresh, that would be the only food "chain" I would ever wholeheartedly endorse being in a park.
