So while I’m still bummed I won’t be able to ride this (until the policy hopefully changes someday), I’ve thought of a way to keep myself excited for it to debut. I’m HOPING that after its inevitable success, plus the success of the Loch Ness Minster refurb, that BGW will realize nostalgia is what’s popular right now and double down on bringing back the past in good ways. Fully restore Verbolten and advertise it as an improved/2.0 version. Bring back corkscrew hill with a more reliable ride system. Refresh/restore/reimagine Pompeii. Don’t add new things just to add them (a-la Tempesto unfortunately). People respond well to nostalgia and improving the rides they’ve loved for years

Maximum height requirement. I’m praying one day they’ll adopt the Kings Dominion/Six Flags policy of asking instead of measuring and taking all answers at face value. I’m perfectly happy to verbally take on liability. All the max height limits are arbitrary and just there for insurance purposes.

Times like this ensures why the current local park leadership is essential to BGW considering what we’re seeing out of SWO
I unfortunately no longer think BGW is the best regional park in the country (it’s probably Dollywood? Holiday World?) but the bones of it are obviously still there. Make good investments and construct less hostile operations and it could be number 1 again. Next up on the docket needs to be a restoration of the Garden of Invention and the indoor spaces in Ireland.
