So weird the way it shoots up #2 lift Lochness style. I just find it strange B&M decided to do that approach
One of the coolest parts in my opinion of this, if you ride the train the chain for the second lift hill isn’t visible until a little ways up the lift hill. Presumably this is to help reduce stress on the lift motor from the train entering at that speed.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, with an entire brake run before the lift, it has 2 trims on it where an entire block zone could with a series of brakes followed by a feed onto the second lift.

I'm no engineer, but I feel like a regular low speed feed onto the lift would be immensely less stressful than a shit ton of encoders trying to match the varying speed of the trains for a smooth engagement. Also, power losses or E-stops would cause the train to shoot up the lift part way and dead lift. Imo a horrible look for guests and really hard on equipment.

I can definitely see that, I *think* part of the reason that’s not a full block section there is in the case of an E-stop or loss of power the train could be going slow enough that some of the cars could end up hanging off the edge of the catwalk. I do think that more trims could be added to that section though. Watching the video again, I wonder if the space between the coaster and train had anything to do with it.

It's such a neat quirk. I knew that was the setup, but I definitely expected it to be slower than that. It's only got two sets of magnetic brakes and one clamp, so the train is definitely supposed to reach the chain every time (and seemingly never stop on the brake run itself):

Perhaps it's just testing with completely open brakes (as pictured) for now? Either way, taking only 10 seconds from engaging Lift 2 to being completely off of it is pretty impressive!

Even ignoring how quickly it's engaging the lift, does the lift hill look really fast to anyone else? Even once it's climbing the chain I feel like it's bookin' it.
I noticed that too, I remember thinking or maybe even saying “man, lift 2 is quick” the first time we saw it go over.

Feels like the height with the lift was more of an homage than a necessity.
I think it could be a necessity, just needed an extra speed “boost” in order to make it to the brake run.

That's good that lift 2 is not near as big an interruption as it was on BBW. It allowed good things and was dramatic, but coming completely to a stop and fussing about before even engaging was too much.
On my latest visit the pointy stakes around the second drop aren't near as scary from the train with the fences complete, but they didn't have a bunch of people standing around keeping an eye on the train going by anymore.
