That would be something to see. It would no doubt be best-in-class! Good thing we're talking about BBW2 and a wooden coaster was never on the docket.
There was definitely a RMC hybrid wood steel coaster that was considered for the location I don't know that a theme ever was picked out but it was 100% a possibility to go there at one point.

B&M made the trains for SFMM’s now-defunct Psyclone. They were really heavy and really beat up the wooden structure.

Psyclone was horrible! I was glad when SFMM demolished it. It's a good thing B&M never made another train for a wood coaster because they absolutely failed with that.

Right. You have knowledge they were considering making BBW2 a wooden coaster?

I will repeat myself

I don't know that a theme ever was picked out but it was 100% a possibility to go there at one point.

Again I was only talking the location not saying that the RMC would have had the same theme.

I wonder what made them change their direction? Iron Gwazi seems to have been a hit. I wonder if it was cost or perhaps someone wanted to push the nostalgia for the 50th anniversary and a RMC would not have fit that bill. I guess we'll never know.

Multiple factors were at play.

Yes cost was one and probably a significant one. But it was far from the only one. Guests serveys and comments have been strongly been calling for another family friendly coasters that young kids can ride as they transition from Grover to big kid rides. This will be BGW's first 42 inch coaster and that really help fill that void. I would have loved to see an RMC or other big ride go there but from a business perspective this is the better call for BGW and fills the wishes of their customers. I personally wish they had chosen a different location and saved this for an RCM or a gigantic but that call is what it is and at least we are getting a tribute to the parks history out of it.

As a parent to young kids I can appreciate this. Mine are at the age where Grover is "too babyish" but also too young to have their brains scrambled by Invader. It is probably a small window in time, but I think the new BBW fills this void.

Darkoaster is 48
Verbolten is 48
Invadr is 46
Nessie 48

And it's not just coaster but other rides in the park. BGW is desperately loe on stuff for kids that are just a little to old for Sesame and to short for the big rides. The enthusiasts in me hates that we lost a plot of land that is great was just begging for an RMC but as an Uncle that takes his niece that is approaching that gap area I am thrilled that I will have another option for her. I really do wish that they had tried something different for the Darkoaster that might have filled this need and possibly given better options for this year but we are where we are on that.

A little bit off topic, but I had a feeling that the new coaster was going to be called drachengeist if it wasn't themed to BBW

I have to admit explaining to your 47.999999998 inch tall niece she can’t ride The Tradewind is not one of my favorite theme park experiences.
Gotta go shoe shopping prior! I knew we only had one visit this summer with my son who was just around the 48" mark with his original shoes depending on how straight he stood. I was that guy searching for shoes based off height over looks. Thankfully the kids Nike shoes are nice and thick :)

BGWs lineup is quite bad for short kids. Tampa at least had Cobra's curse prior to this year. This is a very welcome addition even though my child will be 52" in a short time. Not every coaster needs to be super intense. I'd argue BGW has enough at that spectrum. As I've stated before in other threads, my opinion is that RMCs aren't very good and I believe they will eventually not be favored by your average guests. My RMC experience is with Twisted Timbers, Iron Gwazi, Wildcats Revenge and Jersey Devil. I'm around the 200'lb 32-34" waste 5'10 height. All of those rides are super uncomfortable for me. I re-rode IG before leaving and I was in pain. I had mild bruising from the restraints. Pantheon's launch hump can cause a little discomfort as well, but that is more based on how hard the restraint was pushed down. Ejector air just isn't for me and by talking with others, I'm not alone. If I make it to Cedar point soon, I'll try SV at least once.

Ok what is your source for this? Link please! Also, if what you are saying is true, it has no bearing on if B&M had designed their own wooden coaster. A train is different than an entire design.
