My big hesitation about a resort or Sesame Place back there is that getting road access to it seems like a tremendously expensive nightmare. I think there are other areas of property that are probably better suited for that kind of investment. If we ever see SPW happen, I expect it to be pretty similar to what was proposed a few years back with the annexation of Forest of Fun.

My current vision:
  • 2024: "Dragón Spire" themed to the legend of San Jorge and the Dragon. Utilize the planned "dragon terrorizes the town" theming from "Drachen Spire" and landscape the area with red roses (important icon of Saint George lore).
  • 2025: Minor Spanish hamlet build-out in Festhaus Park north of "Dragón Spire." This work would accompany another major coaster—this time utilizing Drachen Fire's maintenance building as its station with its layout extending back into the boneyard.
Completely out of the realm of BGW creative, given the last ride and most possibly the next, but if we were going with a Spanish village, what about a fast paced, low to ground, highly themed ride based on the running of the bulls. Tight streets, buildings on either side, and a snappy ride that feels either like you are being chased, or are chasing someone else. Think Maverick, but with cows...

Yep. No part of the DS plans I've seen touch DF's maintenance building and I imagine converting it into a station would be trivial.
If you look at Invadr and Nessie exiting the old maintenance building and making a u to enter a lift would match up with the balloon test just saying.

How deep do utilities and whatnot need to be buried to support a new Hamlet? And if the park is unsure about land composition being suitable for building, absolutely they'd want to do testing before further development even if it's not for dynamic/high load structures... Depending on results, it either would verify existing plans or cause the need for revision (and possibly tossing them if it's too costly).

Most utilities don’t need to be dug deeper than 36”.

For a chain that constantly changes shit for "animal rights issues" I would never ever want to see anything related to running of the bulls. While it's a well known part of Spanish culture, all bull related activities draw strong reactions now. I'm sure Spain has something else that could be used.

We have a ride themed to raping pillaging Vikings and a demon spirit chasing people. We can handle a hundreds of years old traditions as a light theme. Not like there would be real bulls

There's already a running of the bulls themed roller coaster in PortAventura called "Stampida." It's the only one on the planet and I'd like it to stay that way.

Nowhere do they imply rape in Invadr, regardless of what history may imply. I just think for a park chain with an animal image problem it's an unnecessary provocation.

It could be years before we see anything for this area. BG has not yet summitted a plan of development to James City County. That review could take between 4-6 months for review and approval. The area could have wetlands, which would need a determination and possible permit from the VMRC, DEQ and the Corps of Engineers (COE). It is taking the COE nine months to one year to issue permits for wetland determination or disturbance. Then there is the construction schedule. Right now supply chain is extending construction schedules. BG may be thinking long term and could be projecting out several years.

Yeah, this is ride 3, after darkoaster and blechen spire. Really not even worth thinking too much about right now

2025 isn't that far away at all. We're likely to start seeing a theoretical 2025 project start to warp other park decisions quite soon.
