I mean, what theming *is* there looks great! Just like.. Darkoaster. However I feel like there is a lot of lost potential, like a lack of near miss elements and really no on-ride theming after the launch.
DarKoaster is indoors, the standard is higher. Even if the actual amount of theming is more or less the same, it's more impressive on a massive outdoor launch coaster than on an indoor family coaster

Especially since 99% of DarKoaster’s theming is just reused from the superior attraction that it replaced.

Because the capacity was so low and because guests seemed unable to select rows beyond the one immediately at the exit of the queue tunnel, you would stand in a sauna-like tube for ages baking in the heat. There were a few scattered fans, but that just meant that people would be unwilling to move forward out of the slight relief they provided.

I supposed suffering extreme heat inside a volcano was thematic.

I did love the accent of the woman in the loose articles spiel, though (Belgian Congo).

I’m hoping if they’re doing an audio spiel for Rapterra it has a throwback of some kind even if it’s just the usual Jungle X voice saying “please secure all loose articles, loose articles are not permitted.”

I do suspect they may just have a ride op do the same spiel they do at most of their bigger rides.

Wasn’t there a chicken-wire cage or something we were herded through for the last few feet of the OG queue? Good times…

Alicia Stella is the Jungle-X voice.

The original queue layout was different before 2014. You would enter the side of the mountain and load on the left side instead of the right and it was god awful being in that part of the queue as there was no fans as far as I remember. This video shows a good bit of what changed.
Dang, that video got me really nostalgic for a second. Volcano was always just an okay ride in my opinion (except for the launches and the flip up and out of the mountain; those were awesome), but damn if that video doesn't have me missing the mountain and all the little quirks it had. The janky queue line through random crags of the mountain, the obvious remains of the mountain's previous inhabitants, the little lagoon that surrounded the gift shop... good times man. The mountain was larger than life with all its little quirks and secrets.

I am sort of sad that any chance of the lagoon's return was dashed with Rapterra's construction. For all the amazing things that the Jungle X transformation has brought us, one small casualty was the loss of many of the area's water features. The Volcano lagoon, the moat surrounding the old Congo Thrills gift shop (now Explorer's Supplies), and of course the water feature under The Crypt were all lost. At least they fully restored the Kilimanjaro waterfall, and it appears that Lake Charles will survive. But I love water features, and theme parks need more of them, not less of them, damnit!

Just warning you guys, early reviews are not good and that it shakes worse than any other B&M.
Please tell me my worst fears are not coming true...
The wheel carrier tolerances that Ryan The Ride Mechanic featured on his video about the B&M rattle seem to be a feature that is not something parks are chasing to remedy with B&M.

BGW could have the same scenario on their hands with BBW.
