I feel like a Mack multilaunch in the style of copperhead could work pretty well here. The park already features 2 Mack coasters, so KD is no stranger to Mack.

I'd be happy with a Copperhead Strike type of coaster. I've never ridden it, but it looks fun. Still, would prefer something with aggressive launches, since that's what Volcano had, if going with a launched ride.

As much as KD could use a more moderate "flagship" ride, KD's heritage is in launch coasters. Much as I enjoyed Copperhead Strike, the launches are not up to the legacy that Volcano and HyperSonic XLC left. S&S pneumatic (or failing that, a ride that does to Maverick what I305 did to Millennium Force) or bust. At least challenge Pantheon for best launch coaster in VA.

If KD could go ahead and submit plans to Hanover County for @Zachary um I mean Hanover County to review that would be great. At this point I just want to get this narrowed down and out of pure speculation phase because all we have now is a plot of land and markers. At some point I just want to see what the hell the new ride is and be happy it's coming rather than just constant speculative debate about a business decision that's out of our control.

*pokes KD "do something please, PLEASE"

Is it safe to say Intamins pretty much out of the picture given CF's relationship with them?
Based on the situation with Zamperla showing up to renovate Dragster, 0% Chance this is an intamin. Cedar Fair hasn’t constructed any new intamins since 2010 one of those is down the hill from the Volcano plot.

I think a ride like this new Gerstlauer Launched Inverted at Tusenfryd in Norway would work well in Volcano's spot.

I like the concept. I just think a lot of people that frequent both KD-BGW would compare the swing launch to what’s already available at BGW.

I get asked questions by average park goers like "does this ride go upside down" for a ride called "Sooperdooperlooper" I doubt they would notice.

Also Storm probably isn't the only thing Gerstlauer can do with their launched invert concept. Honestly I can't think of a more ideal replacement concept wise for Volcano than a more modern launched inverted coaster. Also KD has 0 "under the track" coasters of any kind now so this would fit nicely. I would think if they wanted to go this route they would custom design it to support 2 trains at least.

I think a new launched invert (not B&M) would be amazing. Not B&M because I don't like 4-across seating for inverts. Of course if they did that it better be a lot better than Volcano was since it would obviously be directly compared. Though... even though I loved Volcano, doing better than that wouldn't really be that hard. Especially if it did not have OTSRs. That alone would be a massive improvement.

I think what would be cool if they go with another launched invert is to find a way to sneak in another roll-out element, and to add a few speed sections instead of dropping straight into the final brakes (guessing that was done based on cost and limited space constraints involving the mountain structure).

I’ve heard though the ride’s a little shaky. I wonder why a handful of Gerstlauers are that way. But this would fit well, with a custom layout, even as the Volcano replacement. This one at Tusenfryd even cost only around 9 million in USD.

And? What's so bad about drawing comparisons? Unless it's a completely new and unique innovation, people will draw comparisons to what already exists. I'm tired of that being used as an excuse.
