I don't mean to dampen anyone's hopes. I've also been wondering what those could be holding and it's about time somebody brought this to attention. If I had to guess, maybe it's like a storage area for the entertainment props in Jungle X, possibly including those for Haunt so it's a shorter trip to get them where they're needed. Of all things, what is that white square building behind those three things?

It’s an air compressor.

KD is a bit odd compared to most parks. Instead of each ride having its own compressor, the entire park has compressed air fed to all the rides via pipes. This air comes from two compressors, one was at Volcano, in what is now that cinder block shack, the other is in HyperSonic’s old station.

So this does not bode well for KD adding rides with pneumatic launches in the future?

I think that's more a factor of manufacturers making reliable and thrilling rides that are as easy/cheap to maintain comparable to other launched coaster models

The park has used central air compressors for coaster brakes on wooden coasters like Racer 75 and for older steel coasters like Anaconda. Nothing new. The compressor building for Hypersonic is still there and is still being used as stated above by Gavin.
Ah, thanks for clearing that up and letting me know of the other uses of compressors besides pneumatic launches.

So, I’ve heard that KD sent out a survey like those from Wonderland and Carowinds, but it was asking about what rides should be removed next. I am unsure of the credibility, but if true I think that’s concerning. I'm mean OF COURSE they keep removing rides as that was the habit last decade.

That and despite the surveying in where Volcano used to be, I'm getting a gut feeling this will happen in 2026 at the latest. CF's doing projects like Dragster, the Dorney dive, and there's rumors of Carowinds getting something big for next year. 2025 will probably be Kings Island's year as that Vortex plot has sat empty for very long, as well as Wonderland's year if the surveys hold anything. I still hope 2025 for this project as it would be a great 50th anniversary coaster. However, there's the possibility of a major flat ride going in there first, which could be for next year. Then the coaster could come a year or two later.

I’m thinking we could potentially see here what Canada’s Wonderland recently put in that survey. A Launched Wing Coaster that goes up and out the mountain
