Does anyone know if the new Vekoma STCs are able to do larger inversions?
If they could start out with a Jr. Immelmann on Hals-uber-Kopf, then I bet they'll be able to do larger inversions.

I was actually just thinking about the possibility of an STC coming. It's not the first time as I conceptualized one last year. Let's see, good reliability, probably affordable, nice and smooth, pops of airtime. Capacity...ehhh might be an issue unless they can get three trains with twenty passengers each. Marketability I'm also not sure about but it could be the first Vekoma STC in the states and would give an invert back to KD.

Vekoma STC would make sense as it would put an invert back in the lineup, but I'm sure they've already got whatever they want for the park decided.

Is it too kooky for a free spin and a wing coaster to be right across from each other? If they can get a good wing coaster to replace Volcano, they can go for it. I just think it would be strange for there to be two coasters with winged seating across from each other in the same area, not to mention both having vest restraints. SFGAm also has both a B&M wing and a free spin, but they're each in different areas.

Sure, Kings Island's coaster lineup in Action Zone is all inverts, but that coaster type is more common than wing.

Don’t forget, several Cedar Fair parks now have a slightly larger model of another large prominent steel coaster in the park. Nobody has bat an eye.

I look forward to an inside the magic article about this now if they do build a Wing Coaster.

But in this case, the wing coaster would be right across from Tumbili if that is chosen for the Volcano replacement, instead of being at the opposite end of the park.

One would be a crazy, spinny, carnival-looking ride.
The other would be a big, swooping thrill coaster.
Sure they're both different ride experiences but I just have a bad feeling about those two being closely packed together. Both having winged seating (which again isn't as common as inverted or above track) and vest restraints. And Tumbili, while having vibes of a spinny carnival ride, is technically still a coaster.

Zamperla Volare
As someone who doesn’t dislike volares and enjoys soarin eagle more than Thunderbolt right down the path from soarin eagle vouch.

Anyways let’s get on with what I think. Personally the B&M wing theory is now stupid to me since tumbili which also technically does have wing seating is literally right across the way lol. What I think should be done is a unique launch coaster. Something that’s never and I mean NEVER been done before in the USA. A gamble? Yes. But a huge payoff? Even better. I can see a Mack Stryker coaster like voltron coaster but weaving in and out of a temple and ruins that the park would construct. It’s a pipe dream for me but I really think it could be a great fit. Even a voltron clone would be cool if they run all the trains. One issue volcano had was capacity and I think KD wants to avoid this problem again.

I wonder what their appetite for relatively new products are anyways?

Volcano and Hypersonic were essentially prototypes, which I'm guessing contributed to all of their operational issues.

But I guess if it's a proven ride system elsewhere in the world, even if not in the US, then it should be ok?

Mack Stryker might be very expensive for Kings Dominion depending on its size, but sounds like a decent fit nonetheless.

Are we sure that a Gerstlauer Infinity Invert (same ride system as Storm The Dragon Legend) is unlikely? It could just be a launch variant like Storm (but as a traditional full circuit with multiple trains), and I haven't heard anything about that ride having negative reliability/maintenance issues. I am hearing that it's really intense and jittery, but that might be just because of Storm's layout with tight pullouts and transitions.

Gerstlauers sometimes inexplicably have a rattle, regardless of how new they are. I love both Tantrum and Hangtime, the only Gersts' I've been on, but Hangtime's rear seats are shaky, and I've heard similar things about Defiance and tons of other Gerstlaurer products. I'd be intrigued to hear about a Gerstlaurer replacing Volcano, but not without reservation.

I think this explains a lot of things.

I think what they would need to do for a smoother infinity invert is to have larger diameters for the wheels (possibly) and make sure that the track pieces line up perfectly as well as work on avoiding other manufacturing defects. It was stated in a review video that Tusenfryd is aware of Storm's rattle problem and is willing to fix it.

That aside, I wish whatever comes to fruition for this project, if anything, is just as crowd pleasing and thrilling as Volcano once was.
