Millennium Force part of the same chain uses the same lift. Let’s not act like this ride is made of unobtanium. With the lack of park approved updates we speculate.

My speculation is the park still cutting corners to cut some costs, for the right price anything can be done. I would like to see more effort or at least more communication.
Millennium Force does not have the same lift. While the principle of "cable lift" is the same, it's like comparing Lochness chain lift to Alpengeist chain lift. Made of completely different parts. As far as I know, on this side of the planet, Skyrush is the most similar to I305. Flying Aces might be the similar also.

This is correct.

If you want to compare Pantherian's lift to a launch, you have to compare it with a hydraulic cable launch a la Dragster's or Ka's.

Pantherian features a very "boutique" lift system and it takes that system to an extreme. It has long had issues and there's no reason to believe such issues won't persist throughout the rest of the attraction's life.

Kings Dominion is a mid-tier park in a chain that hates uniquely problematic attractions. I'd endure these large blocks of downtime over losing Pantherian any day. So far, Kings Dominion has agreed and the park has consistently strived to get the ride through its history of long-term closures. Eventually Six Flags will decide to pull the plug though and, when that happens, we will pine for the days of these semi-regular, multi-month closures.

I wish Pantherian didn't have these issues, but it does. I wish Kings Dominion were part of a chain that takes a more proactive approach to upkeep and downtime prevention, but it doesn't. I wish Pantherian were open right now, but it isn't.

Given the array of reasonably predictable potential outcomes here though, this is the best we could realistically hope for. Be patient with Kings Dominion as they fix it and enjoy Pantherian to the fullest extent of your ability when it eventually comes back online because each time this happens, we're closer and closer to the end.
Everything you say here is what makes me hate to approach overall of this industry to everything with repairs. From parks not making sure they order extra of problematic parts, to OEM’s not setting up more places to produce parts, importing issues, approved contractors to do this work (I’ve heard some instances of a repair waiting for someone to come from Europe because no one in America was approved by the OEM to do the work).

In problems like this I fail to point the finger at any one branch of the issue, as you can’t really fault any part there for the issue, but the ecosystem of this approach creates these frustrating situations for all involved (KD/SF has got to be frustrated at this point) not changing is the part that I look at as problematic.

Crazy question, but could Pantherian's closure affect Rapterra's chances of moving the ROI needle for the park? I remember hearing a theory that part of why Twisted Timbers didn't move the needle in 2018 was because Volcano went down.

Rapterra will sustain Pantherian's downtime for a bit, but they need get this thing up by August (first-week) at the latest, since school is back before you know it and attendance falls right back down. Perf world, should have opened 1 month after Rapterra IMO...

Planning a trip there only after we know its successfully open and reliably running.

It looks like they took the 2nd train off. I couldn’t tell if the lift mechanism was next to the lift or not. I did not see any sort of thing on the ground next to it. But the view is somewhat obstructed from Racers turnaround also you’re on a moving roller coaster so that complicates the matter.

I think maybe I didn’t see the spool. Maybe it was just something I saw that looked like a spool.

Okay spool is off to the side still, the tarp is in the area where the spool goes, so maybe they’re covering something they’re working on? The second train has been on the maintenance track for about a week and a half now so that’s nothing new. Otherwise not much has changed.

The new sign on the shop/photo building replacing the giant on-rise picture and the fast land sign look really nice, and continue to tie the theme in! Honestly I had just assumed they’d leave that picture, but with each little update it’s looking great. It makes me wonder if there are still any remaining surprises (not expecting anything big, but even some little theming change we weren’t expecting).

When delirium opened last year I remember them pressure washing the queue about a week before they opened. I feel like other than the lift mechanism everything else is basically done or could be finished in a couple days so maybe we are actually close?
Or they said you gotta do something if you want to stay on the clock...
