Pretty sure the closer has far more to do with the unespected failure of a highly specialized part that only comes from one supplier that isn't know for keeping large amounts of backstroke on hand. Oh a the fact that the parent company has done a wonderful job of trashing the relationship between the two companies probably didn't hurt. Like Trump or hate him it doesn't really matter he and his administration have played little or no role in the closures of the ride.
If this is the same specialized part that has failed in the past I’m ready to pull out my soapbox or they should have multiple on hand of a part they know fails often.

It is definitely a super specialized part of a historically highly problematic system. I definitely think that parks should be stocking a backup for essential, issue-prone parts like this, but unfortunately not just this industry but honestly the corporate world broadly seems to have turned hard into an unwillingness to hold any "excess" stock of any kind on hand. Definitely a practice that has really hurt this industry in my opinion.

It kinda sucks because end of the day Pantherian being down likely doesn’t impact attendance, so the cost of constantly keeping one (or multiple) in stock doesn’t make financial sense to them. And given it’s a rare/defunct lift system it doesn’t make sense to make sure someone in the US has tooling.

I wonder if they would be open to alternative solutions that doesn’t include the current cable hydraulic lift system.

Would it be more reliable? And plus, I thought CF hated intamin, so I doubt they'd do that. :(
It doesn't have to be intamins LSMs. Top thrill 2 has them from another company. B&M has theirs. Zierer has LSMs on Verbolten.

Im sure i305s lift isint deaigned and built right to house all the LSMs cords and shit but in 2025 im sure theres a way

Let’s turn a coaster that already has grey out moments (post original design) back to blackout capabilities with lsms launching it. I’m all for launches but this would be insane on a ride of the caliber of i305 (pantherian).

An LSM lift—even if technically possible (unknown)—would be horrendously impractical, extraordinarily costly, and just generally more problematic than the current solution.
Thats implying a lift like Mavericks is a problem though. Is it? It might be upfront expensive but if it keeps the ride open then that beats where we are right now with Pantherian being a lawn ornament for a whole season. This happened just a few years ago too didn't it?

Also @Griffonboy i never said launch it

I am sure they could get Zamperla to give them a good deal on a conversion.

I'm not a Cedar Point guy—I can't speak to the reliability of Maverick's LSM lift—but for Pantherian you'd be talking about a dramatically longer, dramatically more powerful, and dramatically more complicated system. It certainly would not make Pantherian more reliable.

Fair enough

Granted, I’ve only ever been there for a collective 4 days, but Millennium Force went down far more than Maverick during both trips. That said, there’s certainly a difference between a 105ft LSM lift and a 305ft LSM lift, I think it’s bound to be an unreliable system either way.

Jesus Christ, an LSM lift would be GODLY! Turn I305 into the next Lightning rod and take off the trim on the last hill
OMG it's unreliable enough now you want to turn it into the next Lightning Rod!

(incidentally I found the LSM lifts on Maverick and LR very disappointing and '305 may go over the top faster than Mav)

For guests planning a trip, a closed major ride is worse than it never existing. I would have gone to Kennywood by now but Curtain kept breaking down, LR delayed my Dollywood trip a year, etc. KD hasn't been that crowded for having a new coaster. Surely most of us have waited, or heard of someone waiting for everything to be open somewhere.
