Do we actually think this is about theming or is the ride not mechanically ready to operate yet this season?

Because if it's just due to theming not being complete, the ride should still be opening with the park regardless while they have the biggest spring crowds and most first time guests in years coming to check out the first major capital project in 7 seasons. It's not like they haven't continued to add theming into other capital projects and festivals after they initially opened before...

The blog doesn't say the ride is down until this summer, just that the project theming isn't completed until summer. Is it assumed the ride will be down that entire time.

This and this:

I support them taking all the time they need with the retheme, but I also believe the ride needs to open ASAP—and yes, that can be WELL before all the scenic work is complete—ESPECIALLY while KD is still on weekend-only operations. We saw KD literally build a coaster over guest pathways last year with zero interruptions to the operations of surrounding attractions. We saw KD theme Tumbili and the surrounding area for months following the ride and area opening to guests. KD can and should do the same here. There is no reason to keep Pantherian closed because they are planning to add more paint and props at some point this year.

Hopefully the article is just poorly written and the coaster will open but the theming won't be done until the summer. If that is the case though, KD needs to update their article with that clarification because right now, this looks really, really shitty.

Ohhhh, good catch there. Maybe we'll get lucky. Some parks do a soft opening with stuff like this. I think it goes without saying but when any of you go to the park for opening day definitely report back on Pantherian!

I feel like they woulda mentioned it will be open but there will still be some things not finished, no? Rather than create this blue balled look

It looks like it won't open tonight per the closed attractions list. There could be legitimate maintenance reasons for that. I just believe they have a responsibility to their paying customers to get it open as soon as reasonably possible—and waiting on some purely aesthetic props or whatever is not a reasonable justification for delay.

This isn't a new attraction. There is a reasonable guest expectation that this ride will be open as long as there is not a mechanical and/or safety justification for its dormancy. I hope they're flooded with complaints if they are seriously plotting to leave it closed for months. What a downer that would be on the start of what should be an extremely positive season for KD.

You’d hope that they finish the trains (which look awesome in the artwork) and then open up the ride while they do construction in the plaza during the week while the park is closed.

Ok, here’s my problem with all of this. Why would they post so much on their socials saying “are you ready to ride evolved 305?” Just to fucking rickroll us on passholder preview day and announced it’s delayed till summer? This just feels like a prank the more I think about it.

Insane amount of overreaction going on in this thread. Yeah it’s a shame that Pantherian won’t be available to ride today but delayed ride openings happen throughout the industry all the time. I305 in particular has had more extended closures in its existence than I can count. It’s not like they’re removing it, it’s just potentially opening a couple months late.

I understand being bummed about not getting to ride it this weekend, and given the company’s recent track record I get questioning how long they’ve known this. But we have no way of knowing why it’s closed (again, extensive mechanical issues certainly wouldn’t be a first for this coaster) so the caterwauling here feels a little over the top.

After going through the 7 stages of grief all within 10 minutes, I’ve decided to finally just accept it. I just really hope and pray they don’t change the layout or trim it at all

I think it will open sooner than the theming is done but I have to imagine there’s something still yet to be done that needs to be before the ride itself opens. They have the boxes over in the plaza by the locker/photo shop and they used those to conceal footers for Rapterra’s construction, so I would imagine that’s what those would be for.
I mean why bother covering it up if you won’t let people over there anyway.

If they’re announcing it won’t open until Summer today, then they knew well before today that it wasn’t going to be open today. That’s my big issue. Why make the blog post today otherwise? Summer is 3 months away. Like Zachary said, the ride didn’t undergo any changes. They literally added theming to Jungle X every weekend for the first few weeks of Jungle X - they never closed the land off for that.

Feels extra fishy being announced today. Still excited for it though.
