Though believable, do you have proof?
There were people that were saying they talked with Kevin at the opening (or maybe media day) and he stated that the lights were absolutely temporary because JCC would not approve a permanent installation. Still doesn't help in confirming that there were active complaints about them though.

I wonder what Pantheons line will be like in 2024. Hopefully a tall green spiral thing pulls the crowds away for all of us to lap Pantheon all day.

None of us will give a single sh*t about our opinions of Drachen Spire when it enables us to lap Pantheon 15 times in 2025 😂 I know I will be.
I can't wait for the day when I can get walk on rides on Pantheon. I also hope DarKoaster shortens Verboltens line.

I talked to him. For the sake of clarity what he said to me was that they asked for and received permission to run them for a certain limited time as part of the grand opening. He said JCC's code wouldn't allow for lightning except fir safety requirements above a certain height. My understanding is the code is more CW related and that King's Mill had no involvement in the situation. To add to that stadium lights at Bruton High School which is further away are visible on CW's sky line when in use so it definitely is out of the realm of possibility that these would have been visible there to.

This is technically correct, but long-term waivers can be requested and have been granted in the past. See: Griffon's uplighting. If they can get permission for Griffon, I struggle to imagine that they couldn't get a waiver for Pantheon if they actually wanted to invest the money into a permanent lighting system.

I am not saying that they couldn't get a permit but the other side of it is CW has expanded their evening stuff quite a bit since Griffon so the argument that evening light pollution might negative effect them isn't out of the realm of belief. Also a fight with both CW and King's Mill might br more then the park wants right now.

So... Just hearing from a relatively tall family member they couldn't ride. He bought a ticket specifically to ride, so I suggested he chat with guest services or a ride supervisor - not that I expect them to reverse the ops decision and let him ride but thinking maybe the park will get enough complaints to make adjustments.

I’m honestly surprised they haven’t tried to measure me the highest I’ve been measured is 75 inches (found out about Steel Dragons 6’1.5 height max recently 😭). I got asked on Dominator to be measured by one op and that rides max is 78 inches.

From what I have heard the height limit is based on safety related concerns from the showb it testing related mainly to the backwards launch. If that is the basis which seems plausible given that Velocicoaster and over coaster using the same seat and restraints don't have the same max height then it seems very unlikely that a reversal would come or even be possible.

I'm curious what the actual components are that caused this restriction - it can't be as simple as lengthening the headrest but perhaps seat height and depth?

My understanding is that the head rest is a major factor but not to only one. So sadly zi don't think it's as easy of a fix as that. I will say that every source I have found is extremely clear that it is NOT a clearance issue with any point of the ride.

What weather conditions seem to most impact Pantheon's opening? Looking at the forecast tomorrow I'm wondering if rain might be enough to warrant closing...

Temperature doesn’t seem to matter much, although tomorrow is supposed to be chilly. Rain will probably mess you up, though

All coasters at BGW shut down at 40 degrees. Historically, coasters at BGW run in the rain.

Pantheon’s most significant weather constraint is wind, which is much lower than BGW’s other coasters. It shuts down when the wind speed gets too high at altitude.

Did we ever get a confirmation on what exactly that was, or are we just estimating?

If it's backwards launch that is the concern then the headrest probably isn't the major issue. My guess would be it's just simply the "whip" effect being strong the higher up you go. Granted, if you react and slam your head backwards you could injure your neck from swinging over top of the head rest but my guess would be it's primarily the height above the train.

I was thinking about heading up to BGW on Thursday to ride Pantheon for the first time, but all this talk about the wind has me slightly worried. Forecast is calling for a "Northwest wind 11 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 22 mph." Is that windy enough to shut it down?
