There were people that were saying they talked with Kevin at the opening (or maybe media day) and he stated that the lights were absolutely temporary because JCC would not approve a permanent installation. Still doesn't help in confirming that there were active complaints about them though.
I can't wait for the day when I can get walk on rides on Pantheon. I also hope DarKoaster shortens Verboltens line.I wonder what Pantheons line will be like in 2024. Hopefully a tall green spiral thing pulls the crowds away for all of us to lap Pantheon all day.

I talked to him. For the sake of clarity what he said to me was that they asked for and received permission to run them for a certain limited time as part of the grand opening. He said JCC's code wouldn't allow for lightning except fir safety requirements above a certain height. My understanding is the code is more CW related and that King's Mill had no involvement in the situation. To add to that stadium lights at Bruton High School which is further away are visible on CW's sky line when in use so it definitely is out of the realm of possibility that these would have been visible there to.

I am not saying that they couldn't get a permit but the other side of it is CW has expanded their evening stuff quite a bit since Griffon so the argument that evening light pollution might negative effect them isn't out of the realm of belief. Also a fight with both CW and King's Mill might br more then the park wants right now.
From what I have heard the height limit is based on safety related concerns from the showb it testing related mainly to the backwards launch. If that is the basis which seems plausible given that Velocicoaster and over coaster using the same seat and restraints don't have the same max height then it seems very unlikely that a reversal would come or even be possible.
My understanding is that the head rest is a major factor but not to only one. So sadly zi don't think it's as easy of a fix as that. I will say that every source I have found is extremely clear that it is NOT a clearance issue with any point of the ride.

If it's backwards launch that is the concern then the headrest probably isn't the major issue. My guess would be it's just simply the "whip" effect being strong the higher up you go. Granted, if you react and slam your head backwards you could injure your neck from swinging over top of the head rest but my guess would be it's primarily the height above the train.
