There's no publicly available proof of it being Intamin, but I do believe the layout is pretty convincing. Add that to RCDB reporting it's Intamin, and I'm damn near 99% sure.
I'd agree. The only aspect of this whole journey I don't get is why Intamin went though all the theatrics of "world's first this and that" for Parc Asterix knowing full well the crux of their design was coming up BGW first. Granted, SEAS obviously wasn't ready to go public but I have to assume they weren't too happy.

Certainly, this style coaster isn't a "one size fits all design" like a Sky Rocket II but if BGW offers "less" than what was presented for PA, enthusiasts will howl...which will eventually ripple down to the GP.

I’d say there’s some RMC to the layout tbh
The only mention of "some RMC" on the layout was from your projection pic. I find it amusing that any unique, unusual or new coaster effect is automatically attributed to RMC. Take a look at the PA presentation again (and again). If they even do 90% I doubt people are going to complain there wasn't "some RMC" offered.

Okay...dude... you can easily imagine a wave turn, an outer banked hill, and a stall there. Part Asterix coaster already does that.

Also the GP aren’t gonna care about a ride in France.

Enthusiasts howl all the time. It changes little in the great majority of cases.

I'd say the most substantial influence the enthusiast community has ever had upon the public at large is the basic notion that classic rides are worth preserving. Parks heard that and embraced it in many cases, and it has become a thing. ...As one would hope, since it has been a constant refrain for 40 years now.

But a specific new ride being "less than" a very similar peer ride that is 4,000 miles away... no.

Its ridiculous to even think that the average person would give a fuck about some random ride in France vs 2 hours away in Williamsburg. Especially when we haven’t even seen an official layout for the latter.

“Wait this version in France has THREE inversions instead of the TWO we have here? Better spend $2000 on a trip overseas just to ride this one slightly different coaster than spend $90 on a park a couple hours away.”

Ok, I'll concede. The average Joe probably won't...er...ah...care (I usually add a flyin'...). But it's still perplexing to me that Intamin showcased this basic design knowing it would actually premier a year (and 2000 miles away) earlier.

It probably came down to SEAS not being willing to show off future projects while Parc Asterix was...

European parks are like that. They'll announce a project 2-3 years down the line without worry.

It's a predominantly american thing where we have our rides announced the summer before.

Ok. Now that we're 99% sure it's an Intamin...we've got our lap bars (with or without OTSR) fastened...what kind of theming can we expect? Is it a continuation of Festa (my guess), Spain or what? Is SEAS actually going to fully theme like Alpengeist/Verbolten or (somewhat) cheap out like Invadr?

Example - It's a long, long queue...Will there be special music? I was impressed with Apollo's soundtrack and think SEAS should reinstate that theming element. I stumbled on This company (click Attractions in the menu) that recently did music for Taron and (it appears) a lot of European attractions.

While Taron doesn't have on board sound, here's the music synced to the POV.

I also think it would be cool if they could somehow mount a camera just above the base of the top hat pointed down the launch track. Standing in line you can see the train coming at you.

Any other ideas?

Kind of a pessimist here: not sure about the station, but I think the ride's overarching visual theme will be "big blue coaster in a rather plain mowed field with some trees."
