I wasn't saying it is because he left. It is well known that Giles had tensions with Intamin for years. I'm saying that's why for years, BGW never bothered with getting an Intamin. Of course it's not the ONLY reason, but it contributed.

Fair enough. I didn't mean to insinuate that you were saying that as your statement was that it had been stated previously. I was more just commenting that there were other factors that contributed not just that he didn't Intamin

The only park that has a noticeable avoidance with Intamin is Williamsburg, and has been stated previously, is a result of Giles.

My guess as to why Intamin has seen a dry streak in the US is because they have been dethroned as the go-to manufacturer for big time thrills, as RMC has been delivering that lately. If you aren't going for high risky thrill, you aren't going with Intamin, as B&M and Mack are considered widely more reliable, and are kinda the safe move.

Mack only has a handful of large rides. Cobra's curse and time traveler has downtime. The largest mack in the us is opening @ carowinds. I dont understand why people are so quick to appoint mack as in the same sentance as large players like b&m.

FYI - According to the Wiki, the last Intamin installation in the USA was Wave Breaker at SWSA in 2017. Prior to that was 2014 at Universal Florida and Skyrush in 2012.

RCDB shows them building 3 in the USA opening this year (one at Universal Studios) and 1 (BGW) in '20.

Bottom line - who cares? IF they are the builder/designer, then obviously Seas feels comfortable with the agreement. I don't care who builds the ride. I never heard of Zierer yet I enjoy Verbolten. And I don't care if Seas got a new line of credit, went to a payday loan place or won the lottery to pay for it. All I care is the park I love to frequent is continuing to be viable and a fun place to dump a lot of money.

Now about that balloon in Festhaus Park....

I don't understand the need for a bridge over the train tracks. Why didn't they just use the already paved area that crosses the tracks next to the rapids. It's not like they don't have crossings elsewhere in the park.

I agree. The bridge seems like a lot cost for very little return. Using the existing at-grade crossing would pull people further back into Italy giving more exposure to an area that always seems dead.

You'd have to think this ride is the beginning of an Expansion. No way they go through all of the effort of building a bridge just for a coaster.
I agree. The area I circled bottom center is not earmarked (as far as I know). They may not need that long of a queue line so people could use the bridge to access whatever they could immediately put in that area. 13892

It’s not because of RMC. Intamin currently has about 20 projects worldwide that is under construction right now.

My theory would be that they wanted to preserve the function of the service road that connects to Roman Rapids. I have a feeling they wanted to keep the service road separate from the access paths to the new area. Also, it makes much more sense from an operations standpoint to avoid an at-grade crossing.

I think if they were going to use the service road as an access point, it would have been smart to connect between Marco Polo's Marketplace and Da Vinci, as well as the new bridge. That would help circulate people through the area, creating a second entrance to Festa. I have never been a fan of walking from the Oktoberfest/Italy bridge to the back of Festa via the Festa Bridge.

Perhaps they will eventually build a bridge from FHP to the Festa Field, creating a path from the Festhaus to the Festa Station. This would almost eliminate the need for a Germany train station that was rumored several years back.

The bridge is also much more direct to the entrance of the ride as opposed to going out of the way.
